DSC00198.JPG Hey Hambers. I don't know if i am in left field or not, but here it goes.
I made my own steering wheel on my cnc plasma table and bent 1" tubing in a 15" circle and welded the cut piece in the center. I also cut my wishbone mounting plates with maltese crosses in them. I think this all looks cool as hell.

when i looked for custom steering wheels some places offered 12 or so.
that is not custom to me.

My question is... Is there interst in these type of things? Give me feed back on the ideas. good or bad.

  6. You can't ask for interest and then start making them for people. It won't be custom anymore if you made a few to sell.

gotta say....maltese crosses have been way overdone. It's a cool design, but after you see them everywhere you turn, it gets tiresome and the uniqueness thereof begins to fade in favor. Same with skulls....everybody makes a skull something. Skull shift knobs are cool, but a car festooned with 15 or 20 skulls? lame. That's the trouble with something neat...everybody over does it...then it isn't neat anymore. Take a look at the ratters and their spiderweb affliction...geez...give it a rest.

  8. added some pics. i am thinking one offs. like car name in a spoke pattern. or shit box in big letters i don't seem a limit on design. it would be individual for the guy ordering it.

I think that's bad ass, You made them Yourself and they look great, is'nt that the way it used to be? instead of buying stuff making it Ourselves? keep up the good work. Von Doc

Mud flap girls... not my cup of tea. But as an idea, you could make some with flat edges, like the betty one, and drill holes, get some wood on there and boom, sweet steering wheel.

  15. I think your idea has some merit. Not everyone's gonna dig it but some will too.
    That's just life.

  19. Yo Paul, what about making custom club plaques? Have you thought about what you'd charge for these items?

Steering wheels are tricky. You need a better design inside. but your work is super clean. Try not to do what others have done. Think outside the box. Make it your own and others will dig it!
