F.e.d tires

What tire are some of you guy's using on your dragsters ? I use a 12x31 D3 Goodyear and it works pretty good exept on a realy tight track If the car dead hooks and either spins or shakes . Ihave thought of trying a stiff side wall tire . Looking for suggestions ?

 

I have to run a 33" tall tire to get enough ground clearance the way my 9" rear was installed, but I do like the 12" width.

It took me 20-30 runs to figure out the right combination of tire pressure & wheelie bar stagger (short wb makes them necessary).

I run an alky injected small block, flyweight, short wheelbase car, so I don't know how much of my setup would be relevant to anyone else's.

 

12-33-15 Goodyears on a 10" rim (compound doesnt matter) 7# air
3.90 gear w/powerglide and leave off high idle
wheels up 1.06 60' 7.0 @201mph
