Looks like she made the decision for ya - wear 'em out then worry about what size to run! (I don't dig 14's either, but if my wife bought a set I'd shut up about it )
If you really hate 'em find somewhere to practice your burnout technique!

Run em and be thankful. They won't last forever.

Man, you guys are the best! Thanks to everybody who has taken the time to read my terribly long post and respond. Just for clarification, the truck in my avatar is my old 1950 Ford (with 15" wheels) that I sold a few months back. The truck in question is a 1951 Chevy that came with 14's that I was going to swap out before my gal surprised me with the tires. I kinda figured I was being nit picky, but a few extra opinions sure does help! As of now, I'm kinda leaning toward putting the new 14's on a 54 chevy Car, and getting 15's for the truck. The car sits real low, therefore making the smaller wheel less noticeable (??), while the new chevy truck is only lowered a few inches. Thanks again for all the great advice, and if anyone would like to share some pictures I sure would be grateful!

my 51 is is riding on 205 75 14's and is dropped about 3"
I'm gonna drop her another inch and there's plenty of room.
the 49 truck had 195 75 14 but it was a subfram and everything was hacked pretty good for a very low stance.

There's a big difference between running smaller wheels with tires that look right and running larger wheels with tires that look stupid. Like someone else mentioned, the only person that's really gonna notice your tire size is you, and unless you think they look stupid (honestly, not trying to imagine what everyone else will think) then by all means change em. I think you are over-****yzing the situation man.
My Galaxie has 15 inch steelies on it, and when I bought the dip**** PO had put ridiculously small tires on it to make it lower. 175's or something like that. I had about an inch of sidewall meat and s****ped on everything I drove over. I threw some full size 215's on there before I owned the car a week, and I'm about to swap again as soon as I find a good set of rubber to wrap my Cragars in.
My whole point is having 14's is no big deal as long as you're running proportinate tires. The right wheel and tire profile is a lot more important the size IMO.
I could understand your concern over the wheels looking too small if you were wanting your truck to look like a work truck, but judging by the stance of your last ride, I figure you're shooting for a cruiser.

Back in my high school days (1963) I was working on a 56 Chevy that I had dechromed, installed Lee tail light lenses, added a 55 DelRay interior and so on. An "oilder" guy with some experience in the car hobby as it was then stopped by and commented something like "It looks good. Now if you'd only add some 8.00 14's it would look great". Never got around to adding them as I moved on to a 59 Plymouth Fury but the comment stuck with me. Forty plus years later I added them to my 55 Plymouth Suburban along with the repo 57 Lancers.
