I like it because it addresses one of the major (in my opinion) styling issues with the 3 passenger mopars of this era. The trunk is simply too long. Extending the roof line into the trunk improves the proportions. I've always had a soft spot for these cars since I drove a 49 Special Deluxe 2 door through high school.

  6. 40 Ford has a split rear window-- you're using a 46-48 Ford

It's not just the three passengers...it's all of em. They all suffer from that bubble top crap. I read somewhere that they designed it that way to give you more headroom. Like someone said before, it looks like it was glued on and doesn't follow the flow. I plan on chopping my sedan eventually, but I had never thought of grafting something else on too. All the one's I've seen have just layed that rear window back and made patch panels to fill the gaps. Still works, but I like this dude's idea.

You need to see that truck in person. It's a true work of art. This guy has talent. I can't wait to see what he does with the Dodge.

I am slowly working on a 50 or 51 (not sure) Bizzy Coupe, see avatar, and will definately be following along, as this is the first "build" thread i've found for this body style, finnally i get to see some in progress chop pics, if u don't mind me asking, did u section the roof or just lay the B-pillars forward and the A&B pillars inward?

I didn't really section it being I used a back section from the ford but it appears that way because its longer. Yes I cut the b pillar out before I chopped it 3.5 " in front and around 5.5 in the rear, and layed it forward and bent it up till it matched, the a pillar I leaned them 3 degrees and = them out to fit,the doors frames are going to have to be reworked to the top yes leaned in . It's going to be a four + seater now

That's nice work. I was gonna give you some shit for the truck (;)) but this makes up for it! You are forgiven. :D You've got balls to cut the roof off a '40 to use on a Wayfarer, so hat's off.

Please try to resize your pic's so we can see 'em as thumbnails. I don't know how you're loading them like this, they're so big they don't all fit on screen. Hard to see what you're doing, and a pain to scroll and look at them.

I didnt realize that you were the HAMB police Steve. So why don't you come up with a list of what is cool to you and allowed on the HAMB that way we can all live in your shadow. I don't understand why all you guys have to bash on someone just cause its not your cup of tea. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean that their isn't a lot of craftsmanship and good ideas involved. Not everyone can have, or wants to have a bunch of traditional deuces just sitting around. The best thing about hot rods is that everyone has a different idea of what is cool to them, and thats what makes this lifestyle great. The face that you can see so many different cars, and different ways of making them cool. At the end of the day, weather you like his cars or not, this guys has a shit ton of talent and is making some pretty kool waves in the scene. Good job man on the chop.

I have read, and know what the HAMB is about and i also know that the definition of traditional is subjective to the era that you are going for. That said i agree the the wagon is not traditional in that sense. I believe the reasn for posting that pic was due to the fact that he wanted to show people what kind of craftsmanship he is capable of, and that he isnt just some dude who doesn't know what he is talking about. You are right that the dash should be in the classified section, but also think that there is no reason to jump down someones neck just because. As i agree somewhat with the truck not having a scrub line, their are a lot of cars on the HAMB that are sitting on air and are the same set up. It doesn't take away from the fact that the truck was built very well, and has a lot of neat ideas in it. And the fact that it was built in a garage at his house is even more impressive. I think the whole point that i am trying to make here, and i'm not just talking about you Steve, but their are a lot of people on here that seam to take pleasure in bashing someone and their rides just because its not something that they would drive and doesn't fit into the text book image of what the think a hot rod should be. That being said we all should be happy in the fact that everyone on here is keeping the past of the old iron alive and getting the same pleasure that we all have from owning and driving these pieces of history, even if its something that we wouldn't own ourselves.
