I have loved your 57 forever :) By far my favorite 57 custom, even cooler is the fact that you bought it new! It was a fuelie car originally wasnt it?

This was going to be my straight axled g***er. Just before I started on the car, I had just installed a Camaro subframe in my 56 F100 shop truck. The Ford road and handled so good I decided to put a 68 Camaro clip in this one. That lead to a tubbed the rear, pr of M/T 21.5's and ran a 468 BB with Muncie 4 spd. Turned out great, but I had regretted not building it as the straight axled car I had originally planned. 15 years later, I finally built my current 55.

Here is a 56 210 I did back in 1999. Bought a nice clean,6 cyl "driver" from a friend in Colorado. This one got an LS6 BB/Turbo 400. Paint was 30+years old. Sold the car at Rhinebeck and as far as I know, still has the same owner.

The car was done in several
    different ways over the years.

awwww, i loved the black. the red was neat when you still had the baby moons on. not so much a fan of it jacked up like all the rest now. still a beautiful car but compared to the black, its just not the same!

This is a original steel hood that I grafted a scoop off of a Harwood S-10 gl*** hood with the Z-28 scoop on it. This 55 hood was one that I had that someone had cut a hole in many years ago so I decided to put a scoop on it.

  25. The car as it sits today, my favorite, when was it done that way? As long as I can remember, it looked the way it does now. How about a time line? Thanks....Centurion9

The top left pic was the first scallop job
over the factory black paint job.
The car looked like the bottom 2 pics from
1962 to 1989 when I got the skirts out and
was trying to decide what to do as the candy
job was going away after 32 years.
In 1990 the car was completely gone thru and
has been that way to this day.

Get rid of that truck and that is an excellent photo.

  30. I love Time Travel! I liked the first version to be sure, but the present version is Iconic. I got in trouble here for saying that about Baileys Merc, but I'm a man of strong convictions. Whenever 1957 Chevy "Customs" are mentioned, there's only one. You own it. Thanks for being active on the Forum DJ. You're a Welcome addition. Centurion9
