  1. Great story! Love what you did for your Pops - and that you have that wonderful relationship with him. How cool was it to see your Dad and to give him back one of his old loves . . . you're a good Son my friend.

Do you have any pictures of Rich Pichette signing or his signature on the car.

well as promised jack who originally built my dads ford sent us a few pictures of the car back in the real early sixties. he wrote us a nice letter that stated when he bought the car for 60.00 dollars and doing all the work in a single car garage. he said in the letter he was inspired by the jade idol and you can tell by the front end. some day after dad drives the wheels off of it ill have to re-do the front end back to the way jack built it or build another clone of the car, trying to buy another sectioned car from another hamber. ill get more pictures up after i have them scanned.

I'll have to admit that I wasn't sure how much I like the ford when I saw the pics but today I was driving SE Stark here in Portland, OR and saw it parked on the street (I am pretty sure same car), it is beautiful and very cool!!!!!

Randy - The hood is still hanging in my shop - and an eternal thanks for sticking with me for the drive home when my 'pals' bailed on me! There are some awesome signatures on it - my favorite memory of the trip was when George Barris said he had a couple of friends that wanted to pop out the roof for me - lo and behold it was Bill Hines and **** Dean - **** took off his shoes and kicked where Bill told him to. That was awesome - what a trip that whole trip was! When I have my estate sale - the hood will be up for grabs, so keep an eye out!! Tim :)

Very cool Madwagon - I had never seen the car with the quad canteds - I had heard that it had, but never had any proof....

You can thank Hank from Peggy's for the tweed - it does look better w/o it! I was gonna do a white vinyl type of thing, but never got a round tuit. :)

hey houseofhotrods, cars coming along i moved the grill back 4 inches, took the buckets out and got the bench in it, got dad a new shifter, re-did the tail light lens, put the chromies and bullet caps on it. dad just loves that thing, i wish it still had the quad lights but for now dad gets in it and cruises the wheels off it. if your ever up this way give me a shout and come by. was gonna ask ya who painted it for ya. talk to ya soon

Will do. Dale's Auto Body in Stayton did the body and paint for me - they had it about a year, as I was in no hurry and wanted it done right sat for almost 3 before I had it fixed - the trip to Paso and back really soured me on the car - went to Eastern Oregon to find a perfect rust free hood, and got the bull nose from Glenn at Salem Speed Shop - NOS. My best times with it were after I got it back from paint - then along comes someone offering a healthy amount of money...... Somewhere I have a bunch o' pictures some from way back and if you want (or care) the dates and such of the magazines the car was in while I had it. Will have to dig, but they are around....... great to see it back to life and being cared for. Tim :)
