I want the type of fuel gauge that is br*** fittings with a gl*** tube that mounts to the side of a tank to see the fuel level, but I don't even know what to call it. Can you buy these ready made? I am using a Model T tank turned on its side and looking to mount this type gauge on one end.

As others have stated, look for a sight gauge with 90 degree fittings and fit it up yourself.

We use them in the oil/gas industry for all sorts of fluids and seldom have a problem.

You are asking for a lot of fittings that can leak. Just my opinion. These were used on water tanks. Coffee pots ( In the Dinner we hung out in ).

The McMaster-Carr website is for me now what the Sears & Roebuck Christmas toy catalog was back in the 1950s.

The search term you should use is "liquid-level sights".

I just checked it out because I'm going to outfit my hot rod with a spun aluminum fuel tank with no gauge or sender unit.
