It's all ********. This is the internet for crying out loud. It means nothing, a new guy might be the oldest most experienced car builder there is.

I was once a new guy myself ,Dont let it bother you , Its just the way it was setup thats all .Its a post for points ,Like grenade inspector ,Which I envision Daffy duck hitting the end of a bomb for some strange reason ,I joined the alliance right away ,I hated the fng lingo,But that was my decision ,Just go with it and join the crowd of us gearheads,,,,,,,,

  7. blue one No Bull ****. 11-12 years ago when I first joined we used Member No. (I think I was 90) and you didn't just stop by start posting. It was like walking into a garage full cars and people, and just walking to the fridge poppin a cap and start talking ****.
The polite thing to do is stand back a little and listen long enough to find a subject that your familiar with then adding useful information.
Member numbers were a status, that started being an issue after several 1000 Members. with many of the newbies were legends of rodding. Ryan (and others I'm sure) came up with a system that allows those that contribute to the forum, reach a higher status (that still means nothing) so when you read a post that that asks seemly stupid questions you can just go to the next post knowing that some one will straighten them out before they get their second beer!!!!

I don't think it has anything to do with a persons knowledge or experience. It is just a way of telling how many posts someone has made on here. Now the guys who have alot of posts obviously have been around a bit and have some good comments or advice and alot of time is good to listen. When you see FNG you never know what you are dealing with.

It means some of us talk (type) a lot. As you use the forums more & more your level will change. Kinda like changing grades in school .... In theory a 5th grader has less knowledge & life experiences than a 10th grade student. I say in theory because we all know that it's not always the case.
