Im looking for detailed info on rear suspension mods on these cars. Rear axle width were they mini tubbed? and rear Tire/Wheel sizes. Maybe somebody could post pics if possible with 10" tire and 8 1/2" tires as thats what seems to be available in pie crust Hurst slicks now. This is what we are shooting for.

Don't know any specifics on the lift bars, etc, that were used on these cars but was wondering why the specific 65 year. The McLellan Bros raced a '66 Falcon in A/XS so theres historic precedence and base on a shortened Fairlane chassis they'll accept an FE with no mods.

Well the car im doing this on is a 65 Falcon that belongs to my brother. So Im trying to figure out whats needed to achieve this. Tire size, axle width and if mini tubs are needed ETC I thought maybe someone has done one similar to this already would have some info on the build. Crites has the ladder bars for sale that are correct.

Don't know the "historictly correct" set up is but a lot of guys run A body Super Stock leaf springs and an 8 3/4 rear (again from an A body) as they're much easier to find compared to a 9" from an early Mustang. With an 8 3/4 I think the 8 1/2" piecrusts should be doable.

Thanks im having a 9" built for it we are thinking 56" should work and plan on moving the springs inboard ith a kit from crites my brother thinks the 30x10 slicks will fit in there but to me i dont think the tires on the Havers car look that big thanks again for your input

Get your tires mounted on the wheels you will use FIRST!!! DO NOT guess on the rear end width unless you like to do things twice! Set your Falcon at ride height and set the rims-tires where you want them and measure for the width.A 10" tire will fit with the springs moved and some inner wheel well massaging. ROY.

Maybe you could ask him if he remembers any particulars on that car? specifically wheel/tire sizes, rear width and if the wheel tubs were modified

  11. Russco....I'll see if I can get him on the Bat Phone for the info.
