Thanks to David Cohen, the promoter, a check for $15,000 was presented to the U.S.M.C. "Toys for Tots". In addition, the 50/50 winner of over $3,000 donated his share back to the Marine Corps anonymously. David drove over 16,000 miles to car shows up and down the east coast to invite everything from a million dollar Packard to rat rods to the show. IMHO, this is the best show on the eastcoast, certainly the best I have attended. Mac Thomas, as usual, did a great job with music and commentary, and really set a nice tone for the show. Thanks to all those who brought their vehicles and displays. A great collection, even in some cases, raised the hobby to the level of fine art. We sincerely appreciate the Marines who give of their own free time for the kids, when they could be home with their own families, recovering from arduous tours in combat. URAH!
Great December show, thanks for the pics Lyle, as usual you do a great job. One complaint about the show. Food was great but only a small crowded space to sit and eat. I know we all go to see the cars and catch up with friends but a lot of people eat there. Case in point, I saw a guy try to get through for a seat and spilled his nachos with cheese down a guys coat. Fortunately they were gentleman about it but hey you charge 10 bucks to get in and pay the food prices and are scrambling for a place to eat it. Put the PPG guys pushing coloring books over in the corner and get some tables for the hungry car guys in that spot. Other than that a great show of nice cars and good people.
