I am looking for some br*** inserts that are knurled on the outside and are threaded on the inside. I had some from a friend that worked at a casting plant. But the place no longer makes the same stuff and he cannot remember where they got them. If I at least knew what to call them I could look them up. Local industrial supply only has kids at the counter, they need a name.

Check Mcmaster Carr. If they ain't got it, you don't want it.

These are the ones I use, for my casting of molded parts. can be used in Laminated FRP Parts, during the layup of the parts.

    Thanks, Divco.
I should have said not nutserts.
Mcmaster Carr is great if you know what you are looking for.
I find that asking a friend sometimes gets you a better answer.

Search Mcmaster for threaded inserts. There are several styles, press fit, mold in etc.

You want Dodge (not the car maker..) Ultraserts. Go to the Helicoil site (Emhart Fastening Systems Group) and they should have them. I have a catalog in my hand, PM me if you need something looked up.
