hi was wondering if on a leaf spring if the rear [loose ] brackets have to face rearwards or can they be attached in front of spring eye -- is there a certain angle needed .. thanks bob

Shackles. They are on the rear for a reason, many actually.
Angle, important, yes but it is not as important as on a transverse leaf.

on that spring ?? the front of spring has a solid bracket mounted to frame -- on the rear of spring , the bracket that swings for play , does it have to be mounted behind the spring eye ..... wouldn't there be enough
play for it to work if mounted in front .. thanks fury for answer
