I just can't believe that anyone involved in this hobby could have ever believed any part of that story in the first place. When I originally saw it in Hotrodhotline, I was very disappointed that they would even print such a story. There was nothing to back up the claims and worse yet the truck shown wouldn't being that kind of money even if it were rare as the condition and modifications wouldn't warrant it. On top of that there has never been even an inkling of a rumor of there ever having been any F1's with factory supercharger's, much less 35 of them.
Sorry but it was very poor journalism at best.

Oh my god, sweet Mary and Fancy Moses, this is just too much. What the honkin poop? I got one of these sitting in my storage locker, it has a tag on it that says #1 of 35. This was the first one of these trucks, it has ALL the options, not just some of the options like the one you looked at. Mine has the fan, the cigar ash tray, it has an *** itcher built into the seat, the ultra rare Ford 12 inch rear end, the BS 5 d super 32 speed manual flite transmission, a solid rocket ***embly on the bed, and tweed seat covers. You should have known better, these exclusive trucks have the badging, numbers 1 through 35, sheesh didn't you do any research on this.
I would let you go for a ride around the block in it but I just donated it to the Smithsonian Ins***ution's Bulgaria Branch, the truck is all packed up in a large crate and has armed guards patrolling it and a Sumatran Tiger. I wish I could give you a picture of it but I just washed the jeans I was wearing and the pics were in there.

  3. Damn! say it ain't so! I was already installing the heads and stuff on my 1 off factory hot rod

If it looks like a _____, walks like a ______, and especially if it smells like a ________. I think we all can relate to that...........RIGHT????:rolleyes:

Of course that's not accounting for the fact the world is still awash with Kool-Aid drinkers.

okay hows this to disprove the original story.

As an event coverage person for www.hotrodhotline.com i had already run into the truck at various local cruise nites and took pictures of it. I thought neat , the guy has done a semi stock custom of the truck and went resto rod 70's style with all the dodads and stuff inside and outside. Saw the mcCulloch super charger and thought neat item first time i had ever noticed one. Along with aluminum heads and cast iron exhaust manifold too dual exhaust. Never thought anything about it until many people were talking about it and started asking me if i was aware of it.

When i sought out the owner, turns out its my mailman .

I ask you to try contacting the henry ford museum in michigan and getting thru to the ""acquisitions department""" or the ""museum curator"" by telephone or fax or email...go ahead and try getting thru to get the info to DISPROVE THE STORY , i insist that you attempt it and stop flapping your gums about how its ******** and gut feeling and all the other cliches.

After you try dealing with the CALL CENTER EMPLOYEE who will stonewall the hell out of you . No way in hell are you going to get them to give you a telephone number of anybody top talk to. She will direct you to the website and invite you to send an email and or a fax and wait for a reply that never comes !!!!!!!!!! As they say, been there done that. So go ahead keep saying you SHOULD HAVE CHECKED IT, how ?

My little mailman is a very believable story teller and had an immmediate quality answer to every question i threw at him. People like him who are PURE LIARS are real good at it...........look at Berni Madoff and all the people he scammed and these are not your next door high school dropouts but people of money and wealth and education, with resources to check that guy out and he came up smelling of roses everytime. If the economy did not go in the toilet thanks to wall street he would still be taking peoples money and the scam of a PONZI SCHEME would still be going. !!!!!! Look at the BRE-X gold scam in indonesia..........worth billions. Big time gold companies got ****ed it to worthless piece of property

So go ahead and say it was BS............and try to disprove the original story.

I am sorry for hotrodhotline owner maryann for having to endure the nonsense generated around the story. It was removed from the site after talking to her.

Is this for real? Now the story about a guy I know's great grandpa who bought a new 48 Ford and it got over 100 mpg...only to have Ford buy it back and destroy it...that I believe. I suspect it might have been an oil company.

Thanks for bringing this back up. I missed it the first time.

You may want to find a new occupation.

I don't know much but I know that Mcculloch blowers were made for large trucks not pickups. Why would Ford even mess with it? You are way too gullable.

I sure bet that hotrodonline thanks you for bringing this back up also.

    This is funny.

You keep saying that - the point of verifying a story is to PROVE it's factual, not disprove it. And yes, there's a difference.

There's a difference in proving something's true and NOT being able to prove it isn't.

  18. I found it interesting that my first impression of that truck turned out to be correct, that's all. I am NOT interested in contacting the Ford Museum about it, it's really just not that important to me.

It appears that I indeed did offend you ("supreme" and "flapping my gums about gut feelings"). I again repeat, I am sorry if my opinion of that truck offended you. That was not the intention.

Thank you also for clarifying that the story was indeed bogus.

We don't need to prove anything - you already called out that your story was wrong, that it was all BS. Why don't you just man up and say you made a mistake, that you got conned, and leave it at that, instead of trying to defend something that was nonsense.

  21. Hey I got this really cool mountain with four faces carved into it by the wind and rain, truly amazing. I am not using it and am looking to sell, are you interested?

It was never nonsense.......a lot of people thought that it was the truth, it sounded to good to be true when i first heard it......then the little mailman conman went to work and snowed many of us , ME included.

YUP , gonna man up and say that i was duped, hornswaggled, lied to, taken in and all those other cliches.

To the other person who said that the mcCulloch supercharger system was only on big trucks. Well just got of the telephone with an older guy i know whose father was a dealer and installer of them back in the early fifties on all kinds of p***enger car vehicles. You throw your statement out in the wind like its the whole truth and nothing but the truth and most likely you know didly about the truth.
Are you an expert on early ford trucks and the mcculloch superchargers and their history. If so enlighten us with your knowledge, please.

Back in the day I worked for some of the truck mags and we would always ****e up the articles a little. We would do it knowing it was lies and the reader would never know. We probly would have never known the truth on your rag but you did one hell of a job promoting your BS. Thanks
