Today me and one of my business partners were out driving all the back highways here in south Texas looking for all the oil rigs we could find for our task at work today and as I was p***ing through Fashing, Tx on Hwy 99 and noticed a spot of trees and grown up brush with some old tin poking out. I turned around and went back and knocked on the door of the house that was there. I did not get any answer. From the front door I was able to see a 35 ford sedan and 40 ford pickup and a few other things of the 40s-50s along with what looked like some Model A and T parts laying around. I did not walk around or take pics but I left my business card on the front door and I am really hoping that I will get a call with permission to come back and investigate. I would guess that there is maybe 50- 60 or maybe more cars sitting there in one clump of trees. I will keep you guys posted. Does anyone else know of these kind of places in the area. You don't haveto say where just tell the story.
actually yes... my neighbor has two huge pole barns filled with cars.. i went over there to borrow his fork lift and we started talking cars (this guy is probably close to 70).. he perked up about the cars and asked if i'd like to see "some" cars.. he had at least 50 cars and a dozen motor cyles in there, mostly 30's and 40's.. nothing really cool, mostly 4 dr. odd ball cars, like kaisers, studebakers, nash.. i think he said he's never sold any car he's ever bought.. i told him i'd love to get one of those to hotrod when i get my lift set up (that's what i borrowed the fork lift for)... yikes, that was a bad word, he said these cars needed to be restored and he just kinda laughed about it.. i really didn't feel he'd ever turn loose of any of these.. i haven't talked to him in over a year now, i keep saying i'll stop by just to say hi but haven't... oh yeah, the newest one he had was a 63' mercury and everyone needed a total restoration, complete but needing work.. most hadn't been licensed in 40 plus years...
this place had atleast 50-60 cars I am guessing. I just have this feeling that there is something hidden in them trees. I didn't go snooping around I only walked right up to the house and knocked and looked from the front step view and from the highway p***ing view. I saw lots of good stuff from just those angles and I know that was only a fraction. I hope to find out something soon and keep you guys posted. I will do my best to get pics next time.
