Wow, great show this week. I have been a slug for the last couple of weeks but will have something for next Friday.

Bert, welcome and great job on the "space walk" piece. I'm a big Crumb fan and you done him proud on that one!

    Great work everyone.

well, i was'nt gonna post any pics of this till it was "done" but seeing all the great art you guys posted i just had to be involved.
it's my 50s Norge (by Borg Warner) refridgerator. i got it one weekend why visiting Levis Cl***ic. it was working and it was FREE!
well, i have a STUPID amount of labor into this thing. 30 hours of striping, priming, and block sanding before i ever even mixed any color. i am NOT a painter AT ALL and i think i was holding my breath the whole time i worked on this thing. shading the flames and pulling off all that tape where the most stressful parts for me.
next wednesday Kritz will be coming by to do some pinstriping on it for me, then i'll clear it one last time before it is all buffed to a (hopefully) radiant shine.

let me list the steps i took for you: strip old (brushed on) paint and rust spots, prime with heavy fill primer, block sand, prime some more, block sand some more, add body filler to a couple large but very shallow dents and sand some more, prime, block sand, prime, block sand, paint black (base/clear), wet sand with a straight block and 600 grit paper, lay out flames, mask all but the flames, paint the base color (gold/green pearl), shade with a medium green (made by mixing the lighter and the darker greens together 50/50) then add details with dark green metallic, unmask, clean off tape residue from leaving tape on for a week and a half, spray with a "blending clear" (basicly clear base coat) then lay on the heavy clear. next will be to wet sand again, stripe, clear and buff (wetsanding first if neccesary).

Man, there's some great stuff on here this week. Llike there isn't anything good on other weeks . )

I got another Desk Top Art Work. This one is not done, work got in the way of my play time again. But it's close and I couldn't wait. This one is #32. It's about 8" long, 4" wide and 3 1/2" high, I think... The body will be welded onto the frame, and I think it will have both bumpers when its done, the hood lifts off. I might "open" up the grill, but it would be a pita, so probably not.

Caffeine, I like your work, but for some reason, all I'm getting on your posts in this tread is the dreaded black box with the red x. Gene

All that was done was the final shading on the Willys, and the pinstriping outline.

Last but not least, here's artbox. The birds (Scissortail Flycatchers) are called Tijerinas in Mexico and it's my last name(I should charge hipster *****es for using my crest) and two more bottles. PM if you see something you like

 Gawddamn this is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. Its got that awkward 1st step of a newborn giraffe look to it. Way, way cool...

...even if its done by a new guy who failed to post an intro. :p
