I want to say thanks to Steve from Industrial Ch***is in Phoenix, AZ. Steve is an active HAMB member (Elpolacko) and is very personable and professional to work with. I was getting driveline vibrations that were getting worse and after many attemps could not find the problem myself. Steve started by trying to help me diagnose the problem over the phone for a few weeks. With no luck I brought it to GG show and after the weekend dropped it off with him. His vast knowledge of drivetrain, driveline, fabrication and ch***is engineering along with his great ability to diagnose and eliminate symptms quickly and traced down the route of the problems made it easy! Not only did he professionally fix what I brought it to him for but he also went over the car and found things he thought needed to be addressed as the car has not been on the road long. I got email updates each evening with photos and approved the items he wanted to take care of. I got my car back today and everything is better than I could have imagined...on top of that his bill was completely reasonable for all the time and work he put forth. So if anyone in the area needs work or prob solving I would highly suggest Industrial Ch***is, I even made the 5 hr drive....Thanx again Steve. P.S. The Vibration in driveline was a bad rearend..axles/bearings/ring pinion exc... a new manufacture item too btw.
The guy knows a thing or two, about a thing or two. Glad to hear you got your ride ****oned up and ship shape.
Yes he does for sure! I was checking out the Sedan yesterday..Its gonna be *****in for sure..sent a pic back east to my buddy whos gettin ready to start one.
Thank you for the kudos! The driver side axle was too long and hit the spider gear hub. This put pressure on the whole diff carrier, put pressure on the p*** side bearing and shoved the ring into the pinion. The pinion looked like it had 250K miles or better in less than 1.5K of actual use. We pulled enough gear material out of the housing to fill a shot gl***!
Oh sure! Take a simple problem and make it comoplicated! Next you'll be going up on your prices and interviewing customers before accepting their work, checking their cash under a black light and making us stand behind red velvet ropes! The nerve!
I thought he already did that stuff... Also wanted to say "Hey" to Chevy54. Beautiful car ya got there! I'm the guy that was helping to confuse the hell out of you about how to get to Mesa in rush hour traffic the other evening. Sorry I didn't introduce myself. Chip Quinn
Hey Chip Thanx, good meeting you too man...Dont worry no confusion with Garmins new traffic alerts on there GPS...made it without even stopping
I can't say enough about him either gave me some good advice on the rambler wagon project of mine a couple of weeks ago when me and fiddy called him on a saturday hard to find better people
I don't know either... Thought his head was gettin' too big to fit under cars these to look these days!!! Really though, I've said this hundreds of times locally to lots of people, and now I'll say this here... On my own, I'm a damn good builder/fabricator - To have this @$%!&^% as my closest friend makes me want to throw away my tools sometimes!!! Oh wait, sometimes they're his tools... ****! Thanks dude!
I hear ya..thats what made me leave my car and drive 400 miles back to CA without it. Plus it was a great excuse to go back an drink beers n hang with my friends out there when I picked it up!
Steve is a sharp guy! I always look forward to seeing his posts on here. I am kind of intrigued as to how he figured out the problem? Spill the beans dude! Jimmy White
No magic, just process of elimination. Eric told me he had an awful grinding-growling noise from the rear. Was told by Currie not to use synthetic oils, as somehow that was causing the problem. We did an initial inspection and found a drive shaft that needed a balance and a sloppy tail shaft bushing. Nothing severe, but enough to be corrected cheaply. I drove the car again and when the rear axle got up to temp all hell broke loose. We put the car back up on the lift and ran it up to freeway speeds and the tire hop, loose spider caps and all made the rear axle jumpy and running it on the lift a bit spooky. Pulled the spiders and tires off, secured the brakes and ran it again. The noise from the rear was just abnormal, the bearings were toast. I actually found the raised area on the spider gear hub on dis***embly to clean the material out of it.
Aaahh! Another satisfied Industrial Ch***is customer. I too can attest to Steve's experience, fair prices and excellent work. It's good to see that others are as happy as I am with Steve's work. For those who don't know, Steve straightened the frame on my 48 Ford F1 pickup while installing one of his tube center crossmembers and Dakota IFS front crossmembers. In fact, my truck was the last one to have Steve's Dakota crossmember installed. Thanks again, Steve.
