It seems like all the perches I find don't look like the shock 1932 stuff......Or is only the hot rod style available? where can I find them or do I need to find OG parts? thanks

Stone stock with all the mechamical brake 7 shock attachment points? eBay or flea market, and hope they weren't damaged upon removal.

I have not seen an aftermarket repop of an original '32 Ford spring perch. Check with the Early Ford Store in San Dimas, Ca. 909-305-1955. Talk to Bill or Michael. They will be pricey.

I have seen some repro perches with the shock ball "L" welded on. They would have to be harvested from some ******ed up originals but you could weld them on and grind them so that only an expert would know the difference. The ones I saw were not finished well so it was pretty easy to tell.

Originals are pricey because they are often ruined in removal...and of course the Deuce surcharge.:D

  8. Can you post a pic? I have a pair on my Tudor that look stock - the entire front suspension is for sale (undropped '32 heavy beam, spring, perches, shackles, spindles, hubs, '40-'48 brakes, split bones).

  9. Just checked mine, they have part of them hacked off (not sure if it's the brake or shock attachments that are gone).

Kind of an old thread, but I'm curious if Model A spring perches would be a viable subs***ute? I think these are available in repops? I'm also looking to run Houdaille shocks on my Tub with a 33-34 axle and 32 wishbone.

Yep, that's what I ended up running. I think what perches you use depends on your spring width.

Sorry I was drunk last night..

Here is a better description from Chris....

Run A perch pins. They are everywere and cheap. Plus then you can run A shackles. If you run 32-up shackles and an A spring you will have to run A shackels but will have to make a thick bushing for the perch pin as they ID of the perch pin hole is quite a bit bigger.

NOPE! But, they're not too hard to find. They pop-up in the cl***ifieds every now and again. $225-$300 depending on condition.

You are building a Hot Rod and you are concerned about bushings??
    Get some made.....
I make them out of POM(German desciption)
Same material as the "plastic Pete&Jakes bushings

    Run A perch pins !

I can't argue with that. But if there is something more common, cheaper, and requires less modification I would want to know before purchase. That being said if I had a set of 32-34's already I'd use those.
