How is the lobucrod stuff for thermal? I have B-Quiet ultimate for sound and was thinking about putting the lobucrod stuff on top of it for thermal insulation.
I used the stuff Lobucrod sells in my van and my '32, and I love it. I will use it in ALL my other cars.
How much does Dynamat weigh? I use Wurth SKS as an undercoat and it's pretty heavy stuff. If you dont believe me, pick up about 6 bottles of it. It also gives some sound deadning qualities and it's a heck of alot easier to spray this on than it is to fit Dynamat. Opinions? Experience?
I just bought some stuff called Rattle Trap by Fatmat. Looks just like Dynamat. But CHEAPER! 100 sq feet for $160 on Ebay with free shipping
sounddeadenershowdown.com is a must read for anybody looking to do insulation/sound deadening Lizardskin is great, the owner is awesome, it's just a little pricey for paint with microspheres from the airplane industry that cost about $11 a pound. I've made my own and shot it with a cheapy $15 ebay undercoat gun. The secret to lizardskin is that it takes a coat the thickness of a credit card to achieve the results they advertise. Ask him how many coats that takes. IIRC it's around 4 to 6 at least, and that will *not* be cheap. I've tried a bunch of different stuff, lobucrod's stuff is excellent. I used DAP landau top adhesive to put it on my roof a few years ago covered by a layer of jute and it really insulates and knocks out the noise. You don't need to dip your car in dynamat to achieve the max results, although they'll never tell you that.
Im sorry was soulddeadner trdj .......................I always was under the impression these were HOT RODs!
I like to be able to think while I drive, and enjoy myself when I arrive. open pipes in a car that resonates for 5 hours down the highway wears me out. The supplier for hushmat is in richmond mo, made in the usa.
The HAMB is traditional hot rods AND kustoms, buddy. A full-custom '53 Chevy or '51 Merc is not supposed to sound or feel like a Model A coupe with open headers on a flathead V-8, never was, so just drop it!
WTF? Whats Happening to this Place? I use MFM Peal and seal, Just like dynamat but you can get a 100 sq ft roll of the stuff for like under $100 bux and it works great. Did my car back in like 2005? and its held up with no problems headliner and all still intact after summer heats!
lizard skin comes in a kit with the gun...it was easy to do both thermal and sound deaden'n...i also covered the entire interior in a dynamat knockoff.....it works well for me
I think that SEM bedliner is pretty tough to beat, although it will take over a gallon (coupe) to really get the inside covered well.
