I cannot recall a 2 barrel Holley with gl*** bowl.

In fact, the only two barrel carb with gl*** bowl that comes to mind was a Hitachi used on a early to mid 1970's Datsun.

If a 2 barrel gl***ed bowled Holley exists, I would like to see pictures.

I believe 1904's are single barrels.

Early model 1904 (1 barrel) Holleys had the gl*** bowl.

There's a dude here in town with three gl*** bowl Holleys on a Ford flathead six. Looks rad!

I thought they were single barrels, though?

Guys, I am pretty sure there were no gl*** bowl two barrel Holeys. I have thre one BBL's for the intake in my Econo P/U. It will look cool withe the aluminum valve cover and matching intake. There was a write up in a '61 Hot Rod where thetook a early Falcon and the dress up pkg and cam and kit. I believe it got pretty good performance.

The 1904 is 100% a 1 bbl carb. I had one on my Scout, until my Dad and I swapped the motor.

Rebuild kits are available but a bit tough to find. I can't remember where mine came from.

they exist... I think they look cool too. One thing I loved about the ol' 750 dbl'pumper I used to have was the gl*** side pugs and the float adj w/out removing carb...

Autozone carries the rebuild kits for about $20.

To the best of my knowledge they were only a single, not a two barrel. Had a 215-223 years ago and remember that if you were not real careful on a rebuild you could crack the bowl.

Yes I have the 1904 gl*** bowl 1 bbl carbs.

I have heard that they made 2 bbls too, but never seen one. Just wondered if there was any truth to it...

My brother and I ran four of the single throat gl*** bowls on a 322 Buick in our '34 sedan built in 1954. Worked very well on the street.

Straight linkage on all four? I wondered about running a couple on a flathead.

They are small, i have gathered a mess of them to run on a hemi but i just aquired a blower and am having 2nd thoughts. I have spoken with a noted carb builder and they have developed a fix for the 'leaking' bowl problem that these were famous for. The carbs go for bigbucks on ebay and i have no idea why.

    Supply and demand!

We get more calls from enthusiasts who plan to use them in quan***y (2x1, 3x1, etc.) than from O.E. restorers. Many like the see through gl*** bowl. And there are many different for different size engines; thus a number of different internal venturi sizes.

Also, there is an unsubstantiated rumor that our government ordered the stoppage in production of gl*** bowls due to a fire hazzard around 1962. I keep hearing this, but have done a LOT of research and cannot find any truth to it. Anyway, Holley DID release a service replacement zinc alloy bowl for the early 1904's, and later 1904's came with the zinc alloy bowl. If anyone has do***enting proof of the rumor, I would delight in having a copy for my records.

Most commercial rebuilders replaced the gl*** bowls with the zinc alloy ones once the zinc alloy were available; and tossed the gl*** bowls.

    1952 Henry,

Yes, we had a log manifold with "equalizer tubes", but ran straight linkage.

Built many 1904 Holleys in the 70s and never saw a gl*** bowl 2 barrel.

yep, just like everybody else said.. just single bbl carbs.. I've got a pile of 'em..

oh and just wondering does anybody have float bowls like this?? I had 2, needed one more, now one broke so I need 2... and I had a hard time finding just one..

They're for the 1904's, but they have large raised HOLLEY lettering on the bowls.. sorry for hijacking, but if you've got one or a couple let me know!

    thanks,
    Bobby

Yes. With the added advantage that you can cruise at WOT with out getting a speeding ticket.
