There I was cleaning the garage today and I had to move the wood splitter to get to something when it dawned on me.....that 27 ton splitter would make a GREAT press, or with a little jig, maybe a break...or even a tubing bender..I'm thinkin' about trying to bend a piece of 2x4 tube to see if with the right amount of heat it can be done... Anyone ever use their hydralic wood splitter as a shop tool ?
Some tubing dies might make it usable if there's a way to secure them to the bed. Pretty cool if it works, dual purpose tools are always a bonus in the shop.
BavBul is right...you'll likely have to fabricate some dies to fit the splitter, but once that's done....there's no stopping you, no matter what you want to bend dj
