yes another one stolen, from the the san fernando valley (shadow hill area) a 1957 chevy convertable. http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/video?id=7838080 the link is to the news story
Well, at least they did get some video of the truck the thieves were driving pushing the car down the street. Anyone from that area recognize that truck? It isn't all that distinctive but it does have plenty of things on it to help one recognize it. Lowered, big wheels and running boards.
I'm doubling the insurance on my cars. Changing locks. Alarming the garage. Then im investing in a rabid, ***ually frustrated, emotionally unstable, HIV positive, sleeve tattooed, gold chain wearin, Pitbull with anger management issues to guard them. Maybe that will stop these sons-a-*****es.
Someone needs to be set up...and real soon. problem is, the theif isnt the one recieveing the stolen property, at least thats what i think. so jailing or killing the theif is necessary, but it wont stop with that....The Money man needs to have a real bad accident..sooner the better. Too bad the owner of that car didnt have cameras..hard to see the driver in the 57 Cali , needs to change the game..time for car theifs to fear the owners you all better start putting pressure on your states government, and all your law enforcement and lobies, before the insurance companies **** you deeper for owning a cl***ic..its coming..if this isnt nipped now expect your rates to go thru the roof
That is effing insane! **** like that makes me wanna hurt someone. I hope like hell they catch that piece of ****. Do they use the death penalty in Calli?
Holy **** someone needs to be strung up for this ********,that poor girl looked justifiebly sick. Its disgusting to think your heart and soul go into somthing just for a dirtbag peice of **** can take it.Everyone involved with the car theft should be beatin with a ballpeen! AAAAHHHH!!!!!
good pad locks on the garage door tracks could help slow these jack ***es down if the cars in the garage and your torch is put away. i would like to catch some **** in my garage!
With the number that have been stolen in that area or within ** miles radius lately I'd think that either someone is stealing specific cars to order to be shipped overseas or there is a shop in the area that is "restoring" cars by stealing really nice cars and by mixing and matching parts turning out cars with different vin tags that appear to be fully restored in their shop. See a crusty 56 TBird sitting beside or in a shop a while back and now that shop rolls out what is supposed to be that vehicle restored and does probably have all the correct numbers on it. See a similar crusty 57 Chevy ragtop sitting in front of a shop and a few weeks rather than years later that same shop supposedly has done a high end restoration on the same car? The only other thing I can think of is that someday we might see the bunch of them on tv on one of one of those Life of the Rich and Ruthless shows in some oil sheiks private collection off in the middle east somewhere.
I bet the thieves didnt expect any neighbors to have security video rolling at the time. I hope someone identifies that truck soon and the thieve get caught.
Dear car thieves, Life must be really hard for you, not knowing where your next paycheck will come from. Having to work so hard. I'd really like to give back this year, so I have an offer for you. PM me your address, I will in turn send you my address so you can come pick up your prize....A 1967 GTO. It will be in my unlocked garage with the keys in it and a full tank of gas. I promise I will not be standing in the shadows with My AR-15 and Ka-Bar ready to shoot you in the leg and cut your throat. Have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. The Hitchhiker
Convertibles are hard to lock up and with all the thefts lately I had a hard time getting to sleep when I was in Daytona with my 55 sunliner parked outside the motel,I did not lock it since I did not want some dip**** cutting the top just to look around in it for something to steal and I would have to drive over 900 miles back home with a cut top. I am going to think about coming up with something to keep it safe for my next out of town trip and I hope they find it before it gets cut up or shipped over seas or going down to mexico.
Guess that hidden kill switch really worked! It's not likely that much of anything, short of being caught in the act, would have stopped them. Of course my car is in a padlocked garage in the same area, and I've been out of town for 3 weeks now. Luckily it's worth about 149,000 dollars less than that chevy convertible. Maybe it'll go into a shipping container to another country. I think that's wishful thinking because the alternative is just too horriffic to contemplate: they part it out. It happened to Project Heavy Metal, and I can't imagine them getting that into a container discreetly, but what do I know. The parts are effectively untraceable. I bet the thieves got a cool thousand bucks for it.
I got mad when some ****ing lowlife ******* stole a candy cane Xmas ornament from my front yard. I catch someone stealing my car....there's gonna be another homicide in Flint.
What s***, that makes me sick. Not only the disrespect of stealing something someone has worked their *** off for; but to care so little to just push it down the street with a truck. I want to burn them alive with a soldering iron, yes it would take some time but they would feel me. On a lighter note I think I remember the news caster.
Cameras, tracking devices and so on still allow them to cart if off first. Kill switches and the like still don't keep it from being pushed, pulled or loaded up and hauled. Would hate to have to deal with it, but is there something like the boot that the police use to keep a vehicle from being moved that could be gotten and used? At least they wouldn't roll it away....... Sure hope that video helps them nab someone on this one. The way they are shoving it down the road, you can tell they didn't baby the car. Really hope it's still in one piece and comes back to the owner.
Heard a report this morning saying how nice the cl***ic car scene is down in Venezuela. Oil Money? hey down there fuel is like a Buck a gallon or something like that.. it was mentioned on the radio how cheap it would be to fill up and own an old car down there..and how many nice ones there are.. something to look into. I think there is big money and big people involved in these cars disaperence. especially the big money cars or the rare ones. like a Cartel Boss making an order or 2 and getting just what he see's in a picture..I know it sounds far fetched, but i dont doubt it for a second Death is the only thing going wake up the law enforcement, either the theif gets caught in the act by an armed owner, and either the theif gets shot and killed or the owner of the cl***ic..thats when the right powers will give a **** about our "old cars"..maybe
Just ****s. I bet the push truck was stolen also, wouldnt want to scratch your own car doing something like that.
Its not far fetched. I had an OT import stolen (defeated the alarm) from in front of my house in Seattle WA, it was found a month later along with 17 other import shells on a seldom used logging road in OR. All of the cars had been parted out, wheels, motors, trans, interiors, stereos, body kits. The PD officer that gave me a copy of the report and released what was left of my car indicated it was an "order off the menu theft" for cars and parts. I hope she gets the vert back
How about an anchor ring in the concrete floor like body shops use for pulling frames? If you are going to leave the car for an extended period just slide under and chain it to the floor. It might take thieves awhile to figure out why they can't move it.....
My Dad bought a 66 Hemi Charger from a guy that had it chained to a tree in his front yard! ...But this all sounds like 'someone' is building a personal collection to me.
