Well i found myself so burned out about a year ago from all the knuckle busting and simply an all out what i have termed Rod yuck taste in my mouth that i took a break for awhile. In a little under two years prior i had built a 39 Ford pu basket case and a 29 Model A roller while all during this time tinkering with my fiddy Buick. What's even worse is that i have not posted here on the HAMB more than a hand full of times.Well the lofing party is over.I was at a benefit/car show yesterday and the bug has bitten me in the *** again,so all my ole buddies out there, get ready for some more of the stupid *** questions i will need to ask to get the Buick ready for The Lone Star Round Up Here's where we are at with the Fiddy Buick
On about every build I've done, I go through about two burnout periods . Sometimes really hard to get out of my funk. Good to see you up and building .
Ive been in one for over a year now. Put a new gas tank in my 52 about a year ago. Got it in the garage about 3 weeks ago and still havent touched it. After this week i took a vacation from work. I'll have off like 10 days so hopefully i can pull it together and start on it. I need to build rocker panels on both sides, and rebuild the carb to name a few.
I dig your 50 Buick.I have been working afternoons / evenings lately at my job 6 days a week.It ****s but it gives me time to work on my AD truck in the mornings without feeling guilty when my wife and daughter are home .I work on it every morning weither i feel like it or not.Im affraid that if i skip a few days that i will stop working on it completely .Makes it worse im doing this **** outside .I have access to my dads old shop but its 18 miles away.I know if i brought it over there and had to drive there and back to work on it and then go to work afterwards ,i would find excuses not to .Im doing metal and body work right now ,which everyone thats done it knows it ****s .Burned hands ,skinned knuckles ,stripping paint ,but its part of the process and im doing it one panel at a time.Glad to see your back at it ...
Glad to see you are getting back to work. I have been up and down with my build too. It seems when I have the time to work on something specific, I'm short on skills. When I have the skill to get something in particular done I don't have the time to do it. The skills building part is what the HAMB is for I guess. Best of luck BBobb. I'm sure there are plenty on here that will be able to help you out when you need it...
Tough for me to stay focused if I work every day. After while it just seems like I dread going out there again. For me it just takes a few days away and I'm eager to hit it again. Not sure I could go two years! Nice 50 Buick!
When i was walking the show yesterday,i guess the clicker was seeing all the other rides lined up and my fat *** drove up in a 2009 f=350..no bueno for dodo This was also the first car show since LSR
