My (not so) Special

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Special Sam, Aug 13, 2010.

  1. Bought the thing blind off Craigslist. Sent somebody else to pick it up. Here it is after we put it together to see what we had bought. Yeah it came taken apart. Wasn't informed of that. Took 2 days to get it to this point and boy was i thrilled when it cranked and purred like a kitten. Dont rag me over the seats. Came with the car, and saved me the trouble of picking a color to paint the car. Orange it is. Please be kind to me. I've never tried to fix myself any kind of old car.

  2. Car is going to be orange and white. Playing with idea for the wheels and tires. Probably buy some cokers but used some paint to get an idea. Does the orange and white in place of the blue and red look okay on the hubcap?

Just replace the Longhorns logo with a power T and you'll be in business!

**** looks good man, and I dig the orange and white as long as it's not that stupid Chevy hugger orange, find a slightly unique and off-tint orange and stand out from the crowd of muscle car orange rides...

  5. Only had a little surface rust on the top sides and had already been stripped for the previous paint job. Since I ain't going for show quality I think I've gone far enough. Pay no attention to that man behind the respirator. Taped up color pics are wet, untaped are after the flattener kicked in. Tried to match the color to the seats. Got bored and thought I'd play with the dash.

  6. Looks good! Dang you move fast. LOL, letting the good interior make the decision for you on what color to paint the car, that's cl***ic!

Orange and White and "power T's" ....shudder....

The orange on top and a nice creamy white on bottom is going to look good on the old girl though. Makes me want to go find the Good Humer man. Good luck on your project.

    Hey to Goober.

Go Vols!!! You would be right at home at Neyland Stadium. All you will need is a Blue Tick Hound to ride shotgun and a stereo that plays nothing but "Rocky Top"
    Seriously...great score.

Moving right along! Orange and white will look great on that car. Wasn't too bad to begin with, holy ****- not to shabby for something you never laid eyes on until it was in your driveway!

  22. And I'm hoping to do something on it later today, may start cutting in to that right quarter. It will be like opening a christmas present. Maybe I should wait till Dec. 25. Ha ha. Can't believe the old pan lift worked under this car. Not complaining though. At least it's finally back inside till a customer calls and it has to go back outside. Oh yeah, Finally got a left rear door handle after a year. Thanks FLAT-TOP BOB.

  29. It's gonna be orange down to the curved Buick mouldings and white below them. I do have some skirts for it though. You got it right on that.
