Were are in the middle of finishing up the chop and I need a measurement from a model A 30-31 sedan or coupe, from the top of the gas tank to the bottom of the windshield frame. Not to the bottom of the rubber, but the actual steel part of the frame. There are arrows in the picture of what measurement I need. Also how big is the gap between the dash and the windshield frame. It would be the gap above the top arrow in the picture. Thanks in advance for any help with this.

You gotta get your post count up before anyone will talk to you dude... since you are a FNG, that means that you are less experienced with old cars than people with more posts, I am sure after you lose that FNG under your name, you will be a much better car builder....... LUKESTER....

  7. I've heard others say that, but even when my count was much lower I got pretty good help. It may be that the folks who know are just busy working on their own cars.

It seems everyone has time to talk tatoos and skateboards, just not cars. Maybe I should ask at the Old Skool Rodz board.

Or perhaps someone has'nt seen it that can help yet. I don't think post count has anything to do with it. My Sedans chopped but I have'nt got to that point yet. Are you going to hang it on the original hinge?
I'll be watching to see what it is as well, someone will come through.

Looks like you are using a repro aluminum windshield frame. I am using one on my 31 coupe. I'm at work right now so I can't get a measurement, mine is chopped almost 5 inches. If no one else answers by tonight I go out and give you the dimension you need. I don't think that's what you need to be conserned with beacause it is what it is after cutting the frame at the top. You want the lip of the frame about pretty close to the opening of the car I'm guessing now but about < 1/4 inch or just so it misses when closing to keep the weather out. But like I said I'll post the dimesion latter on tonight
