.....hookin me up with the stolen SAPD cones! I went down to the dome and I was the only guy that didn't have some sorta fancy rope around his car. So Slick Willie hooked me up. His cute little sister in law loaned me her 6 inch switch blade to cut some rope. Then Willie loaned me some cones that turned out to be the property of the San Antonio Police Department. It was a fun little show. This car is actually from just up the road. I saw it at a show about 6 years ago and haven't seen it since. I need to get the history straight on this one, but apparently it appeared in R & C some time around 53'.
Some guy named Di Agostino built this car. I think it was like a high school body shop class project. Pretty good for a bunch of kids!
Yeah Harrison, things have been busy. I've been tryin to get some stuff done on the 33' before the Round Up. Helpin my buddy finish up his 31. On top of that, I've been traveling alot. Luckily things are slowin down a bit. So this little 32' cleaned up. It won like 5 awards. It was built by the Pomona So Cal shop. Like all the cars that come out of that shop, it was perfect. The thing that really sets it off is the Ardun heads. I found one thing kinda odd on this one. It has hair pins with a tube axle. According to Pete and Jake that's extremely unsafe. I think they should give me this car before someone gets hurt. Guess it's only unsafe when you own the patent on 4 bar front ends.
Hey Crease thanks for posting the photos of the show. I did not get a chance to get down for the event. That Olds fits nice in that 32, should fit good in a 33, what do you think? Sandman Barons So. Texas
I actually saw Slick Willie and Mini-Me makin out in the john, haaahaaa Great show Willie, I almost didnt recognize your car without 2 inches of water in it
So wheres the pics of the cute lil sister in-law? Great pics Crease, but wheres one of your car? How bout one of both......Shiny
Judging by the quality of the work, they must have been seniors. Sorry, no pics of the sister-in-law. Here's mine, with my dad. He aint quite as pretty as the switch blade weildin sister-in-law, but he is the reason for the hot rod obsession. Howdy Pogo! Speakin of pictures??????????
Hey Crease, don't go cuting your old man short. Your car is looking good. My car is a lot less done than the last time you were here. I just the block back from the machine shop and it is just bitchen. I had it punched out .125, had the crank turned and the rods trued and rebushed. I ground the valves and seats at Becks. Beck likes what's happening and things went from what are YOU going to do next to when WE put it to gether we'll use that engin stand.I bought some short skirt 3 ring pistons from SpeedWay. The wrist pins are a little heavy but will work. I got some adjustable lifters from Allen Mest. I have an aluminum fly wheel and an Isky street cam. As you can tell I'm rev'ed up my self.Steeve Beck is getting up the steem to put together a 32 roadster project he has been gathering parts for for some time. He wiil put it behind a full dress flatty he has with a over drive tranny, of course inspired by me. The upshot of all this is I'm back on track. Pogo
Pogo, Sounds like the tough stuff is behind you. I was always amazed, you were the only guy I ever knew that bought an old Flatty and didn't have to do major surgeory. Sounds like the flattys are battin a 1000 again on major rebuild. As I've said before, torn down 3 and been told they were all too far gone. Sounds like your doin it right. Cant wait to check it out. You and Steve comin out for the Round Up? Plenty of room at my place. My buddy Blane picked up a book the other day and noticed that one of Steve's cars was in it. Can't wait to see his Hop Up article. "He's not a old galoot, grey beard or greaser, but he knows them all". Thanks for the compliment on the car. Since the picture was taken, I put the front caps on, installed the door handles and made a set of lakes headers. I still need to bolt them up. We're trying to get Blane's coupe together for the Round Up. So far we have a painted frame. Hopefully, things will go together quickly. On paper, we'll be done by Monday.
I got there on Sunday--I definately had a good time--I wet Willie, and a few others. I also got my phone pinstriped and won an AWESOME 'striped jewlerybox at the silent auction. I'm still in love with it! I was really proud of myself--it was the first time that I had ever taken public transportation by myself. AND the first car show I went to all by myself. All the guys there were really hospitable! Too bad I missed Barnett--I guess he thought that it would be cooler to go to San Diego...ugh! Thanks for the good time, Willie! Your wife and family were sooo nice! -Jolene PS--where's the pic? Tuck's gotta see it! -Jo
