Hi.....I was a member of Newbreed in Con. in 1972, does anyone out there know this club? I started drag racing at Carlsbad (Carlsbump) Raceway in 1964. I was 8 and my brother would take me to races every Sat. Night. I 68 I went to the PDA Nationals at C'bad and got a pic of me in Big Daddy's Swamp Rat. that was it and all I wanted to do after that was race rails. I spent some time racing dirt bikes and in 1971 bought a 59 Hillman Panel truck and very clumsily installed a 440 Chrysler and 727. With a lot of help, I got it to run, more or less. In High School I took Auto shop and came to know Don Erby who was at one time an engine builder at Dragmaster's. He taught me many things for which I am thankful. I also took Metal Shop from Mr. Robinson who taught me all things metal. I am much indebted to these men. Got introduced to Ray Higley (Climax, Global Van Lines and Coors Lite AA/FA). Ray was the most generous and patient person I have met. He helped me to learn and sold me my first Front engine Rail. Over the next 35 years, I had many adventures and built many cars. I now find myself older, retired and legally blind. I still build cars, but need more help than usual. My wife drives me around in our 64 Dodge A100 P/U while I am working on the 170" FED and the 69 A100 with the V8. Life is good and I sold the RED to a guy in Washington State and the FED is going to Ark. Looking forward to being here and trying to remember all the thing I have learned over the years so I can give it to someone else. Thanks Don

Thanks all. My eyesight has gotten worse, so this FED is taking a lot longer than I would have liked. Sitting in it is just the gas, even with a nerd looking half helmet on. LOL. I have started an electric trike for me to get around on. Great to be here.
