"Baloo".. Remember it well. One of the few reasons I needed to get to the drags. Dave Chungs "Puppy Love" was another favourite.

I used to live around the block from Pete Lodge, and you'd hear him firing up Baloo. Hop in the car, race around the corner, and all that was left were two huge black lines up the road and a pall of smoke in the air. The car was safely back in its garage with the door down already.
g'day, i'd been to every meeting at wiri previous & was standing at kerrs rd 50-100 ft out of the hole when, after pete lodge backed off a little to staighten up baloo, level to me he full throttled for the 1st time ever. i've got goose pimples just remembering that moment in time. the sound of that (my first) full power blown hemi will remain with me untill i cark it! thanks pete lodge & baloo. ps i believe this was the 1st 10 sec run in nz
