Boy, Coby, you sure understand color and how to show it. That's why the Church books are the best automotive art around. Thank you, sir, for what you do.
That made me smile - I have a couple of friends who are 'professional free lance photographers' who like to run around shows with three cameras hanging around there neck, and the pictures they take got nothing on these.
It's not the camera it's the eye...dirty knees equal excellent photographer....very nice stuff Church...
every time i see a setup like this i try to take a pic like this & it never turns out as cool as yours awesome pics as usual!
Hey Church! what settings did you use for those pictures??? Please share your secrets.... Thanks bud!
I don't have any secrets. I've tried to outsmart the camera, but can't. I set it on automatic and always keep the flash off. I know the cameras limitations an don't shoot under those conditions. Low light, motion etc. There's a big lcd screen on the back. I move the camera around until I see what I want. I am VERY conscious of the starbursts and where they appear in chrome. If I don't like it, I don't take the pic. I crop out people, and position myself to minimize my reflection in chrome whenever possible. You have eyes....use them. Does it look better on the sunny side of the car? The shadow side? Up high? Down low? Do you really want a fat guy eating a chili dog in the back ground? It's a digital camera. If the pics sucks..... delete it.
The camera doesnt make a photographer... its the "EYE" that creates the art. And Coby has the eye for sure, thanks for sharing love your work.
I love point and shoots, but I agree - you have to know its limitations. Thankfully, most car shows are done in bright and sunny weather, so you never have to deal with timed exposures, software interpolated-induced noise, etc. Beautiful shots, as usual.
Pretty good pictures. Although I really wish you would focus more on the Kulture and not the Kars thx
Always, always, always, always impressed when I see anything new you post. All the detail oriented photos are even more rewarding when any of us can see a carb set up or a specific wheel and tire combo and say "I know exactly what car that is on!" I love this stuff man. I have tried to copy your style, but it is never duplicated. Awesome work...
