I do this sort of thing pretty frequently. I'll collect parts for a few years then piece some thing together as a roller, then sell. My current bitsa is a '27 modified that I would be happy to post pictures of - if my new computer had not eaten them! If you are truely curious, it's posted on the "Modified only" thread.

  5. Kind of an O/T car I guess, but this is being built out of stuff that was laying around the school...and a V12 laying around in a friend's garage.

I started out with a 47 Plymouth club coupe, I built everything myself from many different cars, when I went to register it I explained how I put all of these parts together, they put on my tag receipt "Built from Junk!"

  8. I think most of the cars here are built from either the owners stash, or bought, bartered, or scrounged from someone else's stash.. unless wait.. all the cars here are built on art morrison frames, with fibergl*** bodies and a metric ton of billet.. oh wait that's street rodder magazine. thats what makes this forum great.. while some people on here have the dough to go out and buy all that silly ****, they for the most part don't. they rehash old stuff, and in my opinion is MUUUCH better :) oh yeah and the only "store" bought items are the engine internals, the wiring harness, and the bits and pieces to hold it all together...

  9. The reason I ask is that I did the same thing with the car in my Avatar...and proud OF it. I had the engine sitting underneath my bench for years, and decided it was time to wrap a car around it...:D
