That wasn't a real hot fire. LS motors from burned-out trucks are one of the best deals in the junkyards today. The shine isn't off the valve covers and headers.

For junkyard burns, the plastic intakes, computers and wiring harness are gone, but the rest cleans up nicely.

The combustion in the cylinder heads is hotter than paint and plastic burning. Once a car's thin sheetmetal starts to melt away and the gl*** begins to melt, that's a different story.

None of the gas went into the car, it just burned under it, the floor still has shiny paint on the bottom. The interior melted, carpet looks new under all of the garbage, still has antifreeze in the radiator, engine is not hurt, probably won't even need an oil change. I powered up the electronics, has 1333 miles on it. Other than the damage to the bustle, frame, and some burnt electrical wiring from the short in the system caused by the impact, it will be an easy fix. The buy of a life time. It was a Brizio built car, its on his site under past projects. Bob Edlefson's 32 vicky

    What did it sell for?

  7. That's great news. It's good that the car will live another day. It looks like a great buy if you were the lucky guy who got it. Any car that Brizio builds is a quality piece.

It's mine now, sold for 15.2k. the frame was boxed all the way to the tails, p*** side rear rail is twisted will have to be cut off at the reveal area and replaced, driver side will just need the horn replaced. the rear coil over crossmember is bowed forward about an inch and will need to be replaced too. I cleaned off the burnt bondo from the p*** side and there was DP-90 under some of it.

I hope you start a new thread about getting that car back on the road (if you haven't already). This rebuild will be very interesting here since most regulars read about the accident and saw the video. I'm looking forward to more..thanks.

Should go for 20% of the payout. I will be interesting to see what it does go for. This looks like the 32 Pontiac coupe when we started it. Burnt but not damaged.

Some more progress, frame repaired, body back on, fits right, doors close right, It took me awhile to get the wiring figured out, my stupidity. I did fire the engine before I tore everything apart. Ran like brand new.

Nice to see such a nice car being rebuilt instead of parted out. It's coming along nicely

Wouldn't it be something if you put it up for sale once it's finished and Bob Edlefson bought it back with his insurance payout from the wreck!?
