not a big fan of s**** guns - for 700 it's a hell of a deal. You could flip it for more than that when you are done with it.

The spool gun is worth $300.

I have a Miller and I love it. I've used other welders and nothing compares to a Miller.

Honestly I'd jump all over that.

I have a 250X, bought it several years ago and I have been very satisfied with it's performance. I do not have a spool gun, mine is just for mig welding steel. But if you are getting the mig cables that are standard in addition to the spool gun, that sounds like one heck of a deal.

yeah, either way, its a good deal, if it is a machine thats has knobs you can turn it down enough to weld sheet metal, and you can also weld frames, or just about anything, change gas and wire and weld stainless, and spoolgun for aluminum.....can`t go wrong with a miller, and how i got my welder is the guy that had it waned a smaller one so, he sold it to me what that welding shop would give him for a tradein, so, 700 is a good price.....jump on it.....and like said before, the spool gun is worth at least 300, and if it has the bottle with it, they are about 150 each at the welding shop....another 300....

My 2 cents is to grab it before its gone. If you ever want to run Al, the spool gun is the way to go, and even if it doesn't come with a standard wire feed torch, it sounds like a deal. If the guy was going to work with Al, he was probably into metalworking, I'd ask about other tools and equipment that might be hanging around the garage...make a package deal.

If her dad bought it new there is a good chance the original gun and cable ***y is hanging somewhere, or lying in a box. It is alot handier to use than a spoolgun.
