    wow! blast from the past..

I got quite a kick out of taking the car to Hershey for the fall meet this year.. for the most part.. the car is now completed (except for some small changes I will continue to make. )

our escapades with the car have been chronicled here:

as it happens.. I have been fairly successful at finding old wood..

this.. was the beginning of my 36 woodie.

which thanks to foghorn62 currently looks like this..

and although I missed this model A wood at Hershey this fall
(I heard about it but couldn't find it. )

after the meet, thanks to my pal VON DAGO I managed to locate the owner, and purchase it..

the wood for my new / old model a woodie should arrive here next week.

fortunately.. a few years ago my father and I bought this Model A chassis and running gear .. and thankfully no one has stepped up to buy it yet.
so this MAY still become the foundation for my recycled model a woodie.

I also managed to find this:

so I guess i should look for a shoebox ford woodie project as well..

    yes.. I realize I have a problem.

On Sat. at Hershey Sawzall stopped by to talk. While I was sidetracked with someone else Sawzall contaminated by 4 year old Grandson with woodie talk. That's all he talks about now.

have I told you lately you are my hero. your finds are amazing. I really need to start on mine now that my garage is finished. There is no such thing as old wood at swaps meets out here.

  6. I remember this thread, nice to see an update of the car.

spending all my life in the "hamptons" i have driven past waters edge hair salon more then a few times. The cars from way before the salons time for sure, but at the time this car was new the "hamptons" were just a group of farming and fishing towns with some very old money around. Im now interested in why this wood lasted, this was used as a work car no doubt. if waters edge was a lodge it would have been used for sportsmen driving into the feild or the launch ramp.... im may have to ask so of the old timers about waters edge because just like everyone else i want to know the history of the amazing work of art.
