I know the car is O/T, but the skills used in creating this scratch built 1/8 Porsche 908 are impressive: Here's the build thread: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=941279 Happy Healeydays,
Lyle Willits thanks for the M.A.M.A. Pictures. HealyRick thanks for the link, what an incredible build.
Here is my latest build, Revell `32 5-window with 3" chop, bobbed rear fenders hinged hood and trunk, used the flathead from the Revell `32 sedan with the intake from the Revell `40 Ford Coupe street rod, and rims and tires from the Revell `29 Ford "Rat Rod" pickup.
I did this one a couple of years ago.Took first place in the drag class at the Rebel Run in Lima 2 yrs. ago. Giz'
All of my builds are old, but have held up well since they have been stored in glass cabinets. I built this about fifteen years ago using a Lindberg 34 Ford pick up. It has a chopped top, drilled visor and shortend bed. Aluminum fire wall and grille insert. The engine came from a Tommy Ivo Show Boat kit. I don't know where the front axle came from, but I wish I had more. Wheels and tires are from my parts box.
This may be a little ot but here it is anyways, a few years ago I had a 67 plymouth fury so I got the jo-han 68 plymouth fury to build this up. I added a few things to make it like the fury I had, I made the chrome side trim out of some strip styrene, pbr tap handle shifter from some sprue, sob plaque in the back window, grooved sheet styrene for tuck and roll seats, sanded and filled the interior door panels and made them like the 67 had. the rear driver side window got broken so it had a piece of plexi glass that never stayed up so I trimmed the glass to sag. the hood ornement is fromy the chrysler turbine car.
Here's a photo of the front IFS on my 8th scale Deuce. I had to build some brackets in order to mount a rack and pinion steering system. The brackets still need to be shaped and molded to the cross member but this finishes off the front end of this build.
That was one of my favorite diecast mods. Finished that in 2008. Clear coat I sprayed on it has cracked badly. I am planning to rebuild it and build one in scale 1:25 as well with traditional wheels. MehmetCan
Cool stuff guys! I use to build tons of models when I was a kid and now, when at some local car shows, I still go over and check out the model exhibit.
Cool stuff guys. That SoCal F-100 looks great! Some day I'll snap pictures of the '65 Pontiac, '67 GTX, Honda Civic and other stuff I've been working on. O.T. all, yes, but you'll like 'em. The Ponch is very HAMB friendly, I assure you. I also need to work on that '60 Impala and update you all. Time off between Christmas and New Years should yield some progress. Oh, there's also a '40 Ford custom.....It entered the chop shop where it's lost its lid and a few inches of height and gained a sleek smallish soft top.
This is a model I built twenty years ago, of my real car I had as a teenager. The real car I bought for $25.00 when I was 15 years old in 1975. I put a 283 SBC with a 3 speed stick in it. When I got my license, I registered it, drove it for a year before selling, for a sleeker 62 Nova.
Here is a car show diorama I did a couple of years ago. James Bond and Miss Pennymoney, stop by to take a look at the AMT 32 Ford coupe, with an east coast channel. Olds mill from AMT's 40 Ford sedan. The figures are 1/24th scale and made by Gilbert Toy...I believe they came out in 1964, with the release of the Gold Finger movie.
