I cannot confirm the american-made content on some of these, but this is the majority. The truth is, Faria, Beede and Teleflex supply most of the smaller guys with components, Faria still sells some parts to autometer, and I think everyone gets mechanical speedo guts from the same place.
As for period look, and style, I'm not going to comment. If you need something exactly the way you want, you may be looking for a custom job.

Just to toss my 2 cents in this thread...

I had the Moon (made by Cl***ic) in my '39 and loved them. The only thing I didn't like was the insane price of the Moons compared to all the other Cl***ic gauges...YOUCH!
