So I've done the 60's and 70's street car thing. Been wanting to try something from the 30's. Found this and made a good deal on it. Planning to rework the the whole cab and bed inside and out, paint it all and put some period wheels on it.

My question is, what is that cab made from? It has a flat back with corners and edges that are 90%. Was it a sedan made into a truck? I can't find a cab referenced that looks like it. Its ***led as 30'.

I plan on whacking the roof off and fabbing a metal one to replace the wood and bows. But there are no rounded edges like every other model I've found.

It it just a badly done chop?

Thanks for the input and you'll be hearing more from me I'm sure as I delve into this project, it needs a lot of help.

Yeah, looks like a former sedan or coupe to me too. I'd take the home made top off also, its fugley.

Well its good to know that somebody who's a senior member agreed with my sedan theory. The good news is that whatever they used caused it to have more legroom due to the fact that the seat sits back further because the cab is deeper.

That more legroom thing works. If it were me, I'd drive it and have fun with it for at least a season while I figured out if I wanted to make any serious changes to the roof an how I was going to do them and what I was going to use.
Then your "I need to change this" list will have a few things on it that you want to correct, change or attend to. And you can also take that time to look at other A pickup roof lines and decide on that issue. Looks like a truck that will be fun to drive at the moment.

Seriously good advice but, I just don't know if I can drive it for a whole summer with that roof!

Couldn't stand it, ripped the roof off last night. Working on a plan now . . .
