Hey everyone I found this site through a friend on another board. He had posted pictures of my couson Jess Van Deventer's roadster on his site. Jess introduced me to fast cars at the tender age of 10 lol. He had come to Oklahoma City to race his B/MR. He went on to win the NHRA worlds point championship in 1962. Ive had the hot rod disease every since.Ive been considering building a clone of his car for nostalgia racing. Anyone have any old pictures? Im also looking for programs from Amarillo Raceway concerning the Texas vs California challenge. Any help would be appreciated StrokerDave

I have spoken to Jess Van Deventer & one of the original builders of this car. The photo I posted is Jess Van Deventer's car , BUT this photo was taken before Van Deventer got the car. The original builders are Jack McClenachen , Terry Chenowth ( My Dad ) & Ronnie Shoemaker. The car was built in my Dads garage in Imperial Beach Calif.
