He has owned it for many years. Uses it for promotional purposes and has apparently made a lot of money with it.

Yes Rick owns its in SF, he also built a clone of the Black 55 Chevy as well.He could have bought both the Coupe and the real 55 back in 1984 but only could afford to buy one, he was only 15 years old at the time.I think he made the right choice...

Naw, I saw Milner in the eighties and he looked fine. He was using a different name though. It must have been an insurance scam.

He brought it out to Jimmy's Old Car picnic here in SF last october. No fuss, no display, just drove the car up and parked on the grass. Lotta people just walked right by it.

I thought I seen on "My classic car" TV show that Jeff Beck does own it in England.

  17. I recently seen an interview, Jeff was having with Barry Meguire. Jeff builds his own cars, I don't think he owns the original. I could be wrong.. it's happened before!

I never worry about spelling...it's just my nature...matter of fact, I don't worry about much of anything...worrying causes stress, wrinkles and hard feelings (as demonstrated by your post)...besides, you're in good company around here...three-quarters of the HAMBer's on here can't spell either. However, IF and when you decide to post again, show a little more intelligence and USE the spell check.

As for the "long strange online relationship"...suffice to say, it'd all be one-sided (yours).

Jeff has the money. My guess is the last owner held out until some uber rich guy (like Beck) offered silly money for the car. A few years ago some guy with more money than brains offered Carroll Shelby 25 mil for CSX 2000. Shelby almost sold it.

Jeff Beck tried to buy the original years ago but Figari wouldn't sell so Jeff built a clone. Jeff's clone is probably as close to the original car as it could be. I heard the '55 is a modern streetrod on the east coast.

The 58 Chevy from Graffiti is being restored by a guy and his daughter someplace. I think I read that in a car magazine.

The 32 was rough when I saw it. LeMat said the brakes didn't work so hot.

  30. I don't think so, the real '58 lives north of Spokane, WA and has for many years. Here's a photo Chris took of the car back in September.
