Got caught out in the ice storm the other night...I drove the sedan to work figuring I get home before the weather got very nasty. WRONG! After few tense moments and a lot of fun I made it home. Took this pic of the hubcap when I got it in the garage. I thought it was pretty cool.
Heres a pic from one day last winter... I've never had anything freeze up or stick, althought I do worry about the salt getting into all the places that it shouldn't. Fortunately here in Ky we have more rain than snow so I'm hoping it keeps the salt rinsed out anyway!
Some of my best memories of The Peter Beater involve winter driving. Great fun in the snow!! That hubcap pic rocks!
If you're driving that during the winter, I would clean it thoroughly (especially the underside) at a spray and wash once a week. The good thing is that it's easier to get salt out of a simple old car than it is a newer one.
