Vaphead is. He's at Streamline Automotive. Don't have the # right now but search and you'll find it!

VAPHEAD (Eric) is at Streamline/Vintage Auto Parts. His number is 800/426-5911. Give him a call, he'll hook you up.

  4. while this has come up again , I'm wondering if anyone has or even if it exists- an offy catalog ,that I could get a scan of or a copy of , I get alot of people asking for their stuff or if they still make such n such for a 48 ply etc. I know they will pop off just about anything from their past inventory if enough are ordered like 6 at a time or something like that

Boy....I could vent on this subject! A partner and I attempted to get set up with Offenhauser as one of their dealers. We sent the credit application....he lost that. We were finally "approved" and place a nice stock order back in June '04. We were sent the factory "literature"....a stapled together collection of poor black and white images of their products, along with a hand typed price sheet. Not all of their products were pictured, so you had to guess what they looked like. Delivery promise was 90 days. After that we started to call to follow up on the order. Initial phone calls were not returned and when communication was finally established, the owner acted as if he hadn't heard of us or even remembered getting our application. Delivery promise was extended several times....late September, then late October. And by the way....your order is going to cost you 10% more. By the end of the year, we'd had enough and gave up on the whole deal. All in all, a very poor example of the proper way to conduct business. I'm now trying to put something together on Edlebrock heads/intakes. Not afraid to sign my name to this post.......Mac VanPelt.

  6. I was warned about this when i was considering becoming a dealer, so i bailed before even getting started, shame too as they had some nice stuff back in the day , with really good dealer/seller treatment

delivery time on common everyday part seems to be around 2 months. And this was on SBC valve covers w/o holes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On one of the less common parts i would guess 6-8 months easily on stuff, if not longer. Cool stuff and it's cool you can still get there old stuff, but the business practices are horrible to say the least!

  8. Mac, I knew WHO you were, glad to see you on the HAMB!

We happen to be Offy dealers. They have been pretty good to us, I dont stock hardly anything however. VAPhead might have what you need on his shelf.

I am completely shocked that Offy does not go out of business the way they run things. They don't have a website, they don't mention the special-order basis of so many items in their catalogs (one guy waited more than 5 years to get his Studebaker valve covers), and of course some items are just NLA. On top of this, they have not bothered to update any of their high-performance intakes to keep pace with other manufacturer's, etc.

One HUGE suggestion I would make to the folks at Offy, besides getting a website, is to design and produce certain intakes that would sell like hot-cakes today. Such as a Red Ram hemi 3x2, a DeSoto hemi 3x2, a 400-455 Olds 3x2, perhaps a '65-up Poncho 3x2 if they don't have them now, etc. etc. They are really dropping the ball here.
