Born and raised in Ohio. Moved to Denver in 1973. Hot rods has been in my blood all my life, from building plastic models to the real things. My Dad helped me on my first car at the young age of 15. It was a 1931 ford coupe. We installed a small block Chevy drive train in it. That was my first go around with street rods. From the 31 I have had a number of Tri Five chevys. That was back in the days wene you could buy one for 500 bucks, and drive it home. I also got into bikes. My first one was a 1947 Harley KnuckleHead. I still ride the one I bought new in 1998. It is a heritage softail that i customized with speed parts and a old school flame paint job. I copied the flame job from the California Kid coupe. But back to my p***ion for street rods. Like so many of us, we have had so many cars in the past. It would be hard to list them all. Some of my best was of co**** the older stuff. But i still think about my 66 nova SS and 69 elcomino. My first top chop was on a 1934 Chevy 3 window coupe. That was a cake walk compaired to the one im doing to this day. It is a 46 Chevy two door sedan. The 46 was in my wifes family since new. But it has set out in the weather for many of years just going to waist. I picked it up this year on Memorial day weekend. At first it was very hard for me to think about doing a chop. But i read a response from a member to another member. Just chop it you silly rabbit. ITS ONLY METAL. That was all i needed to hear. Knowing that Yeah its only metal, so if i make some wrong cuts or what ever I can always weld it up and fix it. Thanks to the H.A.M.B. and all the post, it has really helped me out. And now if I can learn how to navigate around this site, the way i need to. I would love to share some of my know how with some of the younger members. (If you havent picked up on it yet) Im so old I FART DUST. So this new fangled computer stuff is hard for me to pick up on. But us Old Farts have a hole bunch that we can share.
.....Welcome.......congrats on becoming a member of the H.A.M.B.... Good to have another old fart on board.......You'll fit right in here....enjoy the ride....Big Bad John
