I don't know if this has been posted or not. Couldn't find it doing a search, but I just wanted to show you what I came across. http://www.racingjunk.com/category/...972/GEORGE-RAYS-WILDCAT-HOTROD-DRAGSTRIP.html
heard that is a really cool place, i had no idea the owner p***ed away and it was for sale though. hopefully someone buys it that will keep the track operational and nostalgic
Man , I hope there is a TRUE hotrodder a****st us that picks it up and keeps it going. Hey , We've got 125,000 members here . Everyone chip in 6 bucks and we own it ha ha ha.
I guess it had to happen sooner or later. I just hope that whoever buys it, truly appreciates the history of the place. I spent way too many weekends there in the mid 80's. I loved that place. Good times and good people.
My wife and I found a car like she wanted in Paragould, and we went up there to check it out. I had heard about George Rays's for forever, and my wife and I stumbled on the strip when were test driving her car. We turned down the highway by the track from the main higway, and there it was. I thought about taking the car down the track. It's an awesome place to see in person, and it's the definition of gr***roots for sure. I've never actually been to the races there though. I should've gotten around to it,but we never did. I hope someone will take the track and keep the tradition alive.
Doubt it'll sell for 750 large. When and if it does sell, it'll probably get a bunch of concrete, fancy tower with suites and a new owner who's a dumb***! (jmho)
