Nice grille, always a very hard to find part. I am getting ready to leave Montana, probably in a blizzard, to drive to Colorado for 61 Ford Unibody parts. Bought a truck off the HAMB, with the rare big back window.

Chris, Very nice 34 grille Choice
nothing like the hunt you never know what you'll find

15 years ago we went to a guys farm after we talked to him at Iola his wife showed us some 35 Ford fenders

what she shouldn't of showed us were thirty 33 & 34 Ford grilles hanging up in the hay loft
that was his private stock, we found that out when my buddy called him back

Ford made some beautiful pieces, and to be in such GREAT condition after all these years makes them even better. Cool pics and a great trip to remember.

Keep an eye on the headgaskets in your car. Subies are known to blow them so that they leak internally and overheat like crazy. Ive had a couple of them and love the cars but a very common problem. Nice grill.

I remember when "The California Kid" arrived here in Connecticut. As the story goes Chris started offering Pete a fair amount of money for the car, and kept raising the number, until he offered "crazy money", $25,000. and Pete accepted it fearing nobody would offer that kind of money again. :eek:This may have been around the time the Worlds Record for a car at auction was $65,000. for a Type 57 SC Bugatti.

Chris, That grille looks really good. I used to drive that route in a semi back a few years ago. **** like that weather is what made me move to Tucson. I don't miss it at all.

and a quick Spokane geography lesson for you:
Snoqualmie P*** to the west - part of the Cascade Range

Fourth of July & Lookout p*** to the east - part of the Bitteroot & Rocky Mountain Ranges.

  22. I drive a fair amount for work and swear by my Subaru with Michelin X-Ices on all 4's in the winter. Drive all over western Canada, never been stuck or off the road *knock on wood*.

Here is a pic from today. -15C and ugly.

That's only on the 2.5 motors.....which he should have......and if it has ever had the head gaskets done before then it should be okay.

Yes, and I think its especially the dual overhead cams. I don't know if they updated the gaskets or if its an inherent design flaw, either way good to keep an eye out. Still a great car for us that are unfortanate enough to live in the frozen tundra.

there is a grill just like that hanging in an old workshop of an old dairybarn right down the road from me :). Its probably been hanging there since the car was parked in the driveway. Great find!

Yeah, mines the 2.5 DOHC...HG's are notorious for going on em, mines got close to 180,000 on it with no problems...I bought it with about 140,000 on it and no idea if they have ever been done. I gotta do a timing set on it soon too...or sell it and buy a newer one. Decisions, decisions :D

Chris, I admire your willingness to do what ever it takes to get the right parts, in what seemed to be weather where most people wouls just stay at home!what a great score on the Grille too, it looks fantastic!
