Thanks for all the kind thoughts and wishes guys. We had wildfires in 2007 and I nearly lost my home then - three houses were lost just down the road from me and my home only survived because the firefighters toook a stand at the creek against a 50 ft high wall of flame and stopped it 20 ft from my garage. The wildfires caused the destruction of vegetation whose regrowth (about 90% of normal) just three weeks ago was declared sufficiently by the Fire Authority not to warrant further mandatory evacuations. Then the torrential and continuous rains started, overwhelmed the hillsides and the resulting mudslide filled the creek (over 10ft depth of mud) which then had nowhere to go but straight through my property. The other side of my property took the brunt of the water main blowout with the reservoir water tank dumping its contents and taking out my driveway and the road- a perfect storm as I was hit on both sides. Here's what happened to a tracked backhoe right across from my driveway:
made a ez up type of canopy out of condiut, to replace the old ez up. well the rain weighted it down and it chrashe on my model a in the middle of the night. i made a bigger and better one now. luckily my roof didnt get dented
Man, that ****s Weasel. Good luck getting back on your feet. Hope they help you put the creek back where is belongs.
it never rains in souther california ...chanklas,shorts and wife beaters... there's nothing like cruzin right after the rains on a sunny day ....
Wow! It looks like you got the rain that us in the Pacific NW see every winter. Certain areas on the west side of Washington state have rivers that go over the banks and damage the lowlands like what some of the pictures that were posted depict. Really bad stuff. I am sorry for anyone whose property was damaged. Heck, in West Seattle (Steep hills in that part of the city) they had a landslide last night that blocked a city street. They are in the process of removing anywhere from 6 - 12" of mud off the street. Hopefully, no more rain like that in California. We here in the PNW, have another month or so of 'heavy' rain to look forward to.
We are having similar weather here in Queensland Australia. The rain hasn't stopped for nearly a month.Fortunately we were in USA for 3 weeks of it. Many towns evacuated as floodwaters rise and some places look like an inland sea. Many of the areas affected have a large hot rodding community but I don't know if cars have been lost or damaged. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8189479/men-charged-over-flood-stunts
