Unknown But Familiar Custom

Hello everyone, second post here. This car, for some reason looks familiar... Anyone here possibly know anything about this car ?

Ya I think someone was trying to build a speed racer. any pics of the front?? Kind of looks like a late 60`s charger!!

 

Funny how someone can have tons of talent, but no sense of design. Art direction needed on this project.

It's built on a '68-9 Charger.

 

Never saw it but curious to see more, wondering what those wheels are.

 

Looks like the engine is still available, it was removed and carefully stored to the left of The Special Special.

Isn`t that the custom corvair that one boxer owned? And wasn`t it stolen??

 

This has been bugging me so went searching.I think I know what it started out as. A Corvair!! the long quarter made me thing it was a Charger but the distance between the edge of the door and the front fender was too short to be a Charger. Then I seen what looks to be a brown square on the front fender!! Looks to be a gas door. Same location as a Corvair gas door.Could it be???

For something that was going to pay for somebody's college and fund a retirement, you think he would have tried to keep it just a little better protected. Hate to say it, but obviously this guy has no idea what it takes to redo a car and what the profit margin would most likely be on such a deal. Probably best for him that it was taken to prevent him from digging an even deeper $ hole for himself.

 

That's funny, the owner said he was going to restore it and use the proceeds to pay for his girl's education AND fund his retirement.........Barret/Jackson syndrome strikes again!

 

Realality sets in, Insures it for a high value and then the car mysteriously disapears. hhhmmmm.
