Yea, yea, yea, I know, not even done with the first one and already getting another? Its a '54 and I promise not to touch it until the 51 is complete! I purchased the car from a fellow HAMBer, Mazboi (Chase), REALLY cool guy with some really cool cars. Thanks Chase, good luck to you and I hope your move goes as smoothly as possible. I apologize for the ****py cell pics, we were so excited we forgot to get our camera's out the entire trip. Racrdad went along to help and donated the free trailer rental, thanks Doug!! My son Cameron came along to drive us crazy, he is already claiming rights to my other car! Anyway here are a few pics, I will take some better ones and maybe Racrdad has some he can post, I think he got the camera out at some point!
We stopped on the way home because we saw some cars on the side of the road. The owner was really nice and took us to the back of his property to show us these, and this isn't even half of them, and we forgot the f@*%ing camera in the truck again! STUPID!!!!!!! For a short time, we thought we had died and went to Heaven!
Well after a two our delay looking at cars we were back on the road again. We stopped in Bryan Texas to drop off Racrdad (thanks again Doug!) and then we had another 2-2 1/2 hrs to go. We finally made it home around 10:00pm and got her off the trailer and into her new home. I will take some better pics later, man, what a beautiful sight!
As long as you still have enough time left to finish them bot it doesn't hurt to have a spare project. I currently have 4, every few years I slim down but they always come back. I figure if I stay busy I may get to the thrid one before I check out. Oh yea congrats. Build 'em while you can.
Very nice, I am jealous of the 51 and now we get to see what come from you & Doug on this project. Can't wait to see this one-and i call dibs on the hubcaps!!!!
Wow, congratulations on you new car. If this one is going to turn out like your current project, you'll have two great looking cars in your garage soon! Now get to work....
Nice find, you can never have enough projects! have to ask the question everyone is thinking............Are those cars you saw for sale? Doc.
Wow!!, this is some nice stuff that he has. I take it that this stuff is for sale? I bet he wants a premium price. Great pictures and good luck on your new project. Jon
G***er300, I picked my car up in Crowley. This place is just off 35 (on your left if you are headed south) in between Waco and Crowley. The cars are for sale, they will sell parts but not off of complete cars. There is an old man next to this place that has a pretty good stash of some 30-40's stuff also, but from what I was told you have to "catch him in the right mood" to get to look at any of his stuff. I think our favorite was the straight axle '57, complete with roll bar and remnets of red **** carpet! If these cars could only talk!
Man, I hope you Texas guys know how lucky you are to have good weather all year 'round! The stuff of dreams my friends. I gotta' crank up the garage heater and let 'er rip for an hour before I can stand to start twistin' wrenches. Been plannin' the big move for 10 yrs..but.... 1) Fell in love...AGAIN 2) Got married....AGAIN 3) Got divorced....see #'s 1 and 2 Hmmm...maybe I'm startin' to see a pattern here. Screw it, soon as the hot-rod Harley sells I'm buyin' an enclosed trailer and it'll be just like ' The Price Is Right '. " COME ON DOWN!! " What's it like between Austin and San Angelo? Hot, dry, wet? Is it good roddin' and music territory? Based on my past performance, I hope all the women are UGLY! Eddie.
man what a treasure trove , and it looks warmer than here its 19 deg and the snow and wind are blowing , no junkyard excursions till it turns to spring
Looks like a nice stash "out back". You guys are so fortunate to have the weather you do. I lived in Texas a couple of times growing up. My father was in the Air Force and was stationed in Waco and San Antonio. Only thing bad I remember were the scorpions and the wind blew EVERY day we lived there. Sure beats -20 degrees and 6-8 foot snow drifts here. Frank
Nice score Rob ! Racrdad put you up to this? Gotta watch that guy, he sounds like a crazy!! (crazy metal cuttin' fabricatn' hotrod building wild man!!) Tri-5 boneyard heaven, looks like. Absolute gold mine of a place. ******* but Texas is a big-*** place. Lived in Houston for 5 years in the '80s (Heights), fell in love with TX. Careful what you wish for fellas, might need to move to the Valley to get the weather you're looking for. That's a trip Cameron will always remember !!! You're bringing him up right, Rob.
Car Connection Restorations 17140 N. IH 35 West, Texas 76691 254-829-2957 Ya'll don't forget my finders fee! Haha! I need front and rear gl*** chrome trim for a 51 Chevy! Happy hunting guys!
Projects are kinda like women, one gets boring, two keep you smiling. I just picked up another project myself, so i dont know weather to **** or go blind!!
