Building a 29 model pickup. Flathead and T-5 S-10 trans. Using a speedway chevy adapter plate for chevy throw out arm. The car is channeled and just wanting to do something clean. 3 pedals and steering column packed into a very tight area...any ideas
hey there, im running the same setup in my 28 pickup. ill send some pics in a little bit, gota throw the thing on the lift to get good ones. ill try to explain the best i can as youre looking at them. do you have a pedal assem yet? and remember 28/29 pickups are as small as they come, i like mine cause even if my buddies wanted to driv it they wouldnt fit, hee, hee!
I will see what I can do. I got the measurements off a drawing on a thread here. Here is one of the threads. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=383006&highlight=ansen+measurements Click on the link given for another thread in there as well.
I just finished these up today. They're '47 to '50 something pedals. Works great, just like Henry intended...and no pesky leaking hydraulic fluid from clutch linkage. Car is a 30-31 coupe with 1 inch channel, 59AB Flatty and T5.
Just wondering...with the gas pedal on top of the trans tunnel, isn't it awkward to get to? Or does it just look that way in the pic?
I have the same set up as in 4ever18 pictures .I used chassis engineering pedals with 60's chevy truck parts.works flawless.it is in a 29 with s10 transmission
No, it's not a bit awkward as the pics may make it look. In fact the tunnel makes in more comfortable. Without it you would proally need a foot peg along side it like the original model A had.
Hey man, I just did the same thing. Really tight but totally doable. I ended up bending both pedals toward the drivers side. At the top of the brake pedal I bent it back towards the passenger side a bit to get spacing for the pedals and steering column. The clutch pedal clears the side of the frame by about 1/4 inch and the brake clears the slave cylinder by wraping around it. It sounds a little wierd but it looks good and runs through the floor true cause you don't want a big wide hole for the pedal... The other option is a hydrolic throw out bearing. It sits on the input shaft in the bell housing and you only have 2 stainless lines running out of the bell housing. (no fork) You can then cut the slave cylinder mount off the tranny and get a tonne more clearance for your pedals. Take care.
Here is another way to skin the cat, have you seen this thread? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=442399 There is a diagram on his site for pedal dimensions.
gotta ask what the travel is from full up to all the way down position???how far forward do they travel??/
working on a chopped and channeled 32 chevy coupe with a t56. aint done yet heres a pic of the wilwood pedal setup im using. good luck
Awesome thread, can't wait to dive into fabricating a set of 51 F-100 pedals I have laying around to fit my girlfriends 28 Tudor.
did kinda the same thing as hotrodben1987, except i have a single pedal and dual masters ( front n rear ) mounted on firewall outside
