Thin the herd, sell some of the complete cars you don't drive. Build the chevy. I think that is really what you like to do, build them.

Don't let the fact that it runs and drives get in your head for trading the Chevy. Think about it, he wants the Chevy for a reason and it's because he wants another project. He knows it will be cooler than the Austin will ever be.

I'd keep the Chev. I like Austins, but the bowtie has it hands down. It'll be a lot easier to sell outright if you decide to ever sell it.

I am not worried about running driving, I can do all that, looking car for car, which says HOT ROD..I always thought BIG MOTOR light weight = Fast Car, the 35 will never be fast, maybe quick, but she is big...

Yeah, but what will be worth more when you're ready to send it down the road?

Well if you only have 11 cars, and you are extending the shed, then maybe just buy the Austin and add it to the fleet? :)

  18. just my 2 cents..... if you built the Chev, you know the workmanship behind it. You can't say that about the Austin unless you personally know the builder. Keep the Chev

Like a lot of others I've done a lot of swapping and trading over the years. I love Austins and Anglias, but I wouldn't trade that '35 Chevy for one. Like a lot of others have said, value of the Chevy will far exceed that of the Austin.

Your right, I like to chase old and rare cars, I enjoy working on them, the only ink I have is of a Cross and 2 crossed wrenches!

Some of my best memories is going out finding/buying and picking up cars with my freinds, and 1, brother Ed, is no longer on this earth, I think after listening to all of your wise words, and 1 bumb ***, lol, there is no right or wrong, Hot rods are like women, all types and shape, modles, and no matter what, somewhere, some body is sick of her!

Done deal...Thanks for all of your input, this little guy is a true hot rod, the 35, a street rod, just took Vicki Nova for a "ride" and what a ride...this thing will scoot...as far as the value, in the eye of the buyer I guess, I had the 35 listed a few times, NO OFFERS at all....I was chased down I-75 by a guy wanting the Austin...so like I said before, cars are like women, we each like what we like...the heart wants, what the heart wants...and in the end, I am happy, so was the other party...Done....

Took mama for a "ride" this this is quick...now some updates and wheels-gauges-Line Loc..

I'd trade 2 of those chevs for the Austin, especially since it is a 2dr Austin. I'm pretty partial toi the ealy English cars, and g***ers at that. Austins fetch a fair price as well, possibly more than the chevy due to the wood isues.
