Got to bed Sunday night at 1:00 am from the GoodGuys Show and was up at 4:30 AM monday for work! Had a great time, the weather, the people and been chosen, like Russ with his 1954 Chevy motorhome, for two awards, it really could'nt have been better! Both of us received Street Rodder Magazine pick (10 of these were given out out of 2600 vehicles) Russ also received the Cl*** Act Award. I also received the Real Hot Rod award from Magnum Axle and it's actually a mini chromed axle on a display board. We will both recieve special leather Street Rodder jackets in the mail. Street Rodder magazine could'nt believe we were both from the same small town in B.C., so they are coming to Vancouver Island to do an article & photo shoot on each vehicle. Learned a couple of things about the '27 T. First with the headers uncorked, it shoots major fire at night!! Also when cruising at night, because the headlights are behind the front axle. it creates a light show off of the finned brake drums. Very cool on the freeway, when your sending rays of light into space.
Well done! The sedan looks great. The COE was hard to get near to look at but worth the wait. It's great to see some fresh ideas put to work and the COE fits that to the tee in my book. There were MANY fine cars there that you beat to take ANY hardware home from that show.
Thanks Terry, their waiting for your 409 Model A! hanks Bowtie! rustdodger, i mentioned to my wife, that if you look around at all the fine vehicles that did'nt get awards, we were very lucky to be picked! Coming home empty handed from such a show, doe's not reflect badly on ones ride.
Your car and the RV look great! Well deserved awards. But your greatest blessing is living on Vancouver Island! I lived on Orcas for several years and still can't figure out why I moved back to the heat zone.
This past friday & saturday, Chris Shelton, contributing editor/photographer from Street Rodder came up from Washington State to shoot my ' 27 Voodoo T & Russ Moens ' 54 Chevy Motorhome for future features in the magazine. Here is a pic of Chris shooting it at the paper mill where i work.
