Damn don't time just fly when you're having fun!?
Seems like just last weekend, but it was almost FOUR weeks ago! That means it's times for the latest installment of the N.E. Georgia Swap Meet

Lots of HAMBsters showed up, and even a couple guys who lurk here (and then registered afterwards). The fact that the crowd was the same size as previous months even though it was Super Bowl Sunday AND the Moultrie swap meet makes me really looking forward to this Sunday's show.

Spaces are 20x25 feet; $20 for the first one, $10 for each additional.
Car Corral spaces are $15 each, and gets you and a carload of buddies in.
Looky-Loos are $3 each, kids free.

Interstate 85 to Exit 129 (Hwy 53), West on 53 for 4 miles to Lanier National Speedway. Right across the street from Road Atlanta.

    See you guys there
(Bring the promotor and his wife a beer-boiled Johnsonville Brat and a can of something cold and frosty to wash it down with, get in free!)

    -Brad

  2. I'm lookin' forward to it as usual!!!

Would I be one of the lurkers you're talkin' about?

Please, please, pretty please, can I have my space next to the drain?????

Good i was hopeing it was this weekend, got a few extra people that want to go. Brad any ideas about having a small spot for older cars to park, not a car show, but if you could group the interesting spectator cars, that would be cool, either way, see you sunday sunday sunday......!

"anybody else going to make it?????"

Damn, I'm going to have to adjust my schedule, made the first meet and have missed every one since.

Last month I was out of town for the arrival of new grandkid. This weekend I'll be visiting the kid to count fingers and toes again. The first weekend in April we're headed to the Maxton Mile. Maybe May, but I hear there is a drag race in TN that weekend and that's hard to p*** up.

    Y'all have fun.

Thanks, momma and baby are doing well. Got another in the pipeline for September too. I was going to ask you if you wanted to do the Maryville deal. I don't know anything about it yet except the date.

I'm going to miss beer and brats at the Speedway this weekend though. The cigars will stay in the box until I make it.

  8. Boiling them up the night before.
Should be there earlier this time.
    How many takers for lunch?
    I'll bring the Brats.
Can someone else can bring beverages?

Modified: No, you're actually NOT the lurker I was talking about! I'll have the RESERVED sign up at the drain for you! (sorry about that last time--I forgot it was the drain you like)

PBR: we tried to do special parking for cool cars, and found out the general public is an amazingly stupid animal. There were problems with spectators parking in where we had cars for sale, etc. Once it starts to get bigger, and the car corral is more defined, we'll try it again.

Tudor: Yeah, I went out and tried to get that intake off the shelf to give it to you, but I guess I set it on there when the shelf paint was still wet, because it's just plain STUCK to the shelf and won't come off! I tried a long pry bar and everything. Its like the thing is bolted to the shelf, or made of some really heavy, super dense, 1,000-pounds-per-foot material, because no matter what I tried, I couldn't get it to even budge. Shame, too--I was just gonna let you have it for a six pack of IBC Cherry Cola, but waddya gonna do? (shrug)

    Stevie: Mmmmmmmmm...Brats....grglgrglgrglgrgl....
Since you're boiling them up the night before (don't forget to cut up a big onion and throw it in with them!), do yourself a favor and throw two on the grill at night, then throw them in the fridge: A cold brat with mustard and ketchup for breakfast--better than morning ***!

    Don't forget the seats!
    -brad

  10. Putting chairs at the top of the list (Right under Weber and Brats).

  11. Oh yeah.......A-100 seats....yeah, they'll be there.

Hey, if a whole car club comes out and brings their cars, I'll MAKE a spot just for them! Seriously--if you know those guys, tell them. If it isn't obvious who they are when they roll in, tell them to intro themselves and I'll direct them over to a spot.

Yeah, I'll be up there, too. I bought some seats from a guy on Ebay, and he's bringing them up there for me.

BTW, please put me down for one or two of these brats, also. I realize that eating brats ain't a southern custom, but I suppose it explains why so many of the grown folks that you meet from Wisconsin are so gosh-darned polite; you've found a way to dispose of the unruly types while they're still young!

    (With apologies to J. Swift)

    Later,

Aw shucks, you guys are makin' me blush!

The car show/chili cook off is on Saturday, and it's an annual thing (or going to be--not sure). I'll be up there p***ing out fliers for my show, after my kid's Pinewood Derby (building matching Winged Daytona Chargers this year!)

People in Wisconsin are so gosh dern nice because it's hard not to be with a brat in one hand and a cold beer in the other! We're talking about a state that's known for beer, and summers of endless city festivals--Summer Fest, German Fest, Italian Fest, and the list goes on! Food, music and beer--What's not to be happy about?!

I have to tell ya, I'm really looking forward to this. It's been too long since I've been out to a good meet with good people. Hopefully I'll see some of you there, even though I have no idea HOW I'll know any of you. Heh....

    See you there!
