1966 GMC Suburban. I have wanted one of these for a LONG time. This one has 305 V6 with a non granny 4 speed. Its read 87K, but it probably 187 or 287K. It needs NOTHING. I can literally drive it as it for a LONG time. But I plan on painting it and doing the interior. I hate the flat black/red wheel look.

It has a tiny bit of rust in the front floor and a bit in the roof corner. The p***anger sliding window needs the channel replaced, but other than that its totally solid.

I got it for about $1000 less than what I feel is a fair price!

    Here are pics:

It drives exactly as it should. I drive it home 40 miles on the freeway at 55mph and it was flawless!

    I AM SO STOKED!!!!!

Ya I hate the wheels. And I want it to sit level, even if I dont lower the front, I may put the back down an inch or so.

Paint, Interior, MAYBE a motor swap. Get it set up to use as a parts hauler, but also comfortable enough to cruise with the family.

Looks like it could use an air cleaner lid. :)

The red wheels gotta go asap, and I think the roof rack would look cool reversed.

I have the air cleaner lid, I just need to put it in. And the red wheels/hood opening/emblems are all going to get painted. The roof rack is coming off.

I will probably paint the wheels silver until I can get some wheels I like better.

i really like it as is, minus the wagonwheels.looks like a pto cover on that ****** so you probably would use it like a 3 spd and not use 1st. the last big 6 i had like that would lay rubber in 3rd just mashin the gas goin up hill. don't change the motor ,put in a modern 4 or 5 spd overdrive. that motor should give 20 mpg at idle

I've been seeing one of these roaming the streets here locally. It's a 4x4 and man it looks like fun. Cool truck.

I've always heard those engines were boat anchors, but if it runs good, keep it. Don't expect to find any Go Fast Goodies for it though. I'd detail it and show it off. Spark plugs on TOP of the heads? Bizarre

  19. I'd lower it about 5 in and maybe get some 85-86 4 wheel drive rallys and some 3 spoke spinners for them, makes a good looking wheel. Had those on my 62. Looked real good. Scuff it put on a quick cheapy paint job and drive it. Then take it a panel at the time and repair whats necessary and get a nice paintjob on it. I love it.

I am not sure how much I am going to lower it, but I definatly want to level it. I like the idea of a quick paint job, but I may just do it once and do it right. I am definatly keeping the motor for now, but I would like to re-gear it.

The rack is straight, but the strips on the roof are pealing up. Mine does have a wooden floor in back.

I did a quikie photoshop. I leveled it out and 2 toned it. I am not sure on the black and red, but it looks better than it does now...

You California boys have no idea what rust is.

That tiny bit of rust you described was GM's first crack at a interior air circulation system.
    ( natural Air vent)

Man I love you guys - rust - he said rust - bwhhaaaaaa that's funny.

    Congrats man !

    Nice truck.

See if there's a tag on the one one of the rearend cover bolts that has the gear ratio. A lot of them were 3.54

That is the SM420 granny gear 4 speed.

I think if you're going to two tone it, then you need to get rid of all the black...but that's just me.

I'll bet you a nickel the turn signals don't work.
